Whether I'm right or wrong
There's no phrase that hits
Like an ocean needs the sand
Or a dirty old shoe that fits
And if all the world was perfect
I would only ever want to see your scars
You know they can have their universe
We'll be in the dirt designing stars

And darlin' you know
You make me feel so beautiful
Nowhere else in the world I wanna be
You make me feel so beautiful

Whether I'm up or down
There's no crowd to please
I'm like a faith without a clause to believe in it
And if all the world was smiling
I would only ever want to see your frown
You know they can sail away in sunsets
We'll be right here stranded on the ground
Just happy to be found

You make me feel so beautiful
Nowhere else in the world I wanna be
You make me feel so beautiful

I have lost my illusions
I have drowned in your words
I have left my confusion to a cynical world
I am throwing myself at things I don't understand
Discover enlightenment holding your hand

You are
So beautiful

Yeah darlin' you know!
That you make me feel so beautiful

This is going to be my wedding song.

'And if all the world was perfect I would only ever want to see your scars'

This song is perfect. Despite the imperfections a person has.... they are totally disregarded when it comes to loving someone. You put that aside and see the positive in someone.

    So beautiful.

It's simply so beatiful Darren in his third album seems to be happy, calm and in love with life more than ever. I believe ''the tension and the spark'' album helped him for that. Although I live in Canada I downloaded the song when it first came out in australia and I'm trying to get my friends hear it because I'm sure they'll like it

I think it's Darren coming out to the light again after being in the "dark" for a while (not musically, I loved the Tension and The Spark!). According to his words, this song is about how we are and how we feel when we see through that "priviledged point of view": being in love. How beautiful life is in those magical moments.

I hope putting it on the Savage Garden greatest hits album will help Darren Hayes recover.

I think Spin tried to prove he could go on without Savage Garden and he tried a little too hard. So Beautiful and Tension in the Spark have put him back on track.

I love this song because it is just like the old, very innocent and very pure Darren who used to write the most amazing of love songs. He said recently that he feels that his signature serenades and love songs would be back because he has found someone in his life whom he feels this way about. I cannot wait, and although I loved the very deep, brooding feelings of TATS, this upcoming cd is going to be amazing. Almost perhaps, coming full circle. Not that I hope this is his last cd, by any means! Anyways, this song is very simple and gorgeous, but the lyrics are so carefully chosen and placed so that it sounds so so so heartfelt and candid. Almost as though it just poured out of him, these feelings for this special person.

Cajun Girl
Little Feat
Overall about difficult moments of disappointment and vulnerability. Having hope and longing, while remaining optimistic for the future. Encourages the belief that with each new morning there is a chance for things to improve. The chorus offers a glimmer of optimism and a chance at a resolution and redemption in the future. Captures the rollercoaster of emotions of feeling lost while loving someone who is not there for you, feeling let down and abandoned while waiting for a lover. Lost with no direction, "Now I'm up in the air with the rain in my hair, Nowhere to go, I can go anywhere" The bridge shows signs of longing and a plea for companionship. The Lyrics express a desire for authentic connection and the importance of Loving someone just as they are. "Just in passing, I'm not asking. That you be anyone but you”

Gentle Hour
Yo La Tengo
This song was originally written by a guy called Peter Gutteridge. He was one of the founders of the "Dunedin Sound" a musical scene in the south of New Zealand in the early 80s. From there it was covered by "The Clean" one of the early bands of that scene (he had originally been a member of in it's early days, writing a couple of their best early songs). The Dunedin sound, and the Clean became popular on american college radio in the mid to late 80s. I guess Yo La Tengo heard that version. Great version of a great song,

I Can't Go To Sleep
Wu-Tang Clan
This song is written as the perspective of the boys in the street, as a whole, and what path they are going to choose as they get older and grow into men. (This is why the music video takes place in an orphanage.) The seen, and unseen collective suffering is imbedded in the boys’ mind, consciously or subconsciously, and is haunting them. Which path will the boys choose? Issac Hayes is the voice of reason, maybe God, the angel on his shoulder, or the voice of his forefathers from beyond the grave who can see the big picture and are pleading with the boys not to continue the violence and pattern of killing their brothers, but to rise above. The most beautiful song and has so many levels. Racism towards African Americans in America would not exist if everyone sat down and listened to this song and understood the history behind the words. The power, fear, pleading in RZA and Ghostface voices are genuine and powerful. Issac Hayes’ strong voice makes the perfect strong father figure, who is possibly from beyond the grave.

Magical
Ed Sheeran
How would you describe the feeling of being in love? For Ed Sheeran, the word is “Magical.” in HIS three-minute album opener, he makes an attempt to capture the beauty and delicacy of true love with words. He describes the magic of it all over a bright Pop song produced by Aaron Dessner.

Amazing
Ed Sheeran
Ed Sheeran tells a story of unsuccessfully trying to feel “Amazing.” This track is about the being weighed down by emotional stress despite valiant attempts to find some positivity in the situation. This track was written by Ed Sheeran from the perspective of his friend. From the track, we see this person fall deeper into the negative thoughts and slide further down the path of mental torment with every lyric.
