I've cracked My temper's spat Hot coal, fire and acid jack I've been used I feel abused Something you've done has lit my fuse And I take my theories back Maybe Karma ain't all that Coz you do whatever you please Everybody else is left to bleed

You're a heart attack Your heart is black It's whack Your mind is jacked How did anybody ever get like that? You're a heart attack You stabbed me in the back If you pull your punches jack I'm taking everything back You hit my harder than a heart attack

We used to stick together You and me stay that way forever But now to my surprise You've become what we despised What's that they're telling me? Sleeping with the enemy! Going down on dirty sheets Didn't nobody tell you how to be discreet?

You're a heart attack And your heart is black It's whack You're mind is stacked Tell me how did anybody ever get like that? You're a heart attack You stabbed me in the back If you pull your punches jack I'm taking everything back You hit me harder than a heart attack

You're dancing while I'm dying Laughing while I'm crying Denying the mess you made Your true colors are clashing This airplane is crashing It's smashing Were you even there? Coz I don't think you care About anyone but yourself now

Go run but you can't hide Actions they can't be denied Once thing keeps buggin' me Tell me how you sleep at night I need to set things right Shake things up Modify Change plans and break the rules Play the game like you do fool

You're a heart attack And your heart is black It's whack You're mind is stacked Tell me how did anybody ever get like that? You're a heart attack You stabbed me in the back If you pull your punches jack I'm taking everything back You hit me harder than a heart attack

I love this song. Just this total rage you get yourself into when you realize you've been betrayed by a close friend. Anyone who's had that happen can really get this.

"you're dancing while I'm dying, laughing while I'm crying, denying the mess you made" Oh yes, who hasn't been mistreated by the person you used to trust the most...so full of dissapointment and anger, I just love it.

I'm a big Savage Garden and Darren Hayes fan but I think this song falls in the "it's so bad it's good" category. While Insatiable really hits the pop/R&B sound Heart Attack just falls flat.

I think ultimately the album Spin shows that Daniel Jones is missed.

I dissagree that this song falls flat and that Daniel made Darren. I love solo-Darren because his genre changes slightly from album to album, and he really writes what he's feeling. But anyway, this song is very enjoyable to listen to, and the words are cleverly written as per usual. The interpertations already written were a lot of the same feelings I have on the song. Well done guys.

Yes, I disagree with jbisasky as well. I think Savage Garden and Darren Hayes as a solo artist are just different things, that cannot be compared. I love both but that was a duo, and now we've got Darren on his own doing what it comes to his mind, and he's obviously evolving and experimenting. But I haven't found anything dissapointing or flat with him.

Obviously, it is a very angry song about backstabbing and realising how heartless that person can be. I actually thought it was directed at Daniel Jones during the Savage Garden break up, though this song can apply to many different situations.

and wow. I have realised that Gabigs and Misseverus have commented on all the Darren Hayes songs. Well done lol.

Son Şansın - Şarkı Sözleri
Hayalperest
This song seemingly tackles the methods of deception those who manipulate others use to get victims to follow their demands, as well as diverting attention away from important issues. They'll also use it as a means to convince people to hate or kill others by pretending acts of terrorism were committed by the enemy when the acts themselves were done by the masters of control to promote discrimination and hate. It also reinforces the idea that these manipulative forces operate in various locations, infiltrating everyday life without detection, and propagate any and everywhere. In general, it highlights the danger of hidden agendas, manipulation, and distraction, serving as a critique of those who exploit chaos and confusion to control and gain power, depicting a cautionary tale against falling into their traps. It encourages us to question the narratives presented to us and remain vigilant against manipulation in various parts of society.

Overall about difficult moments of disappointment and vulnerability. Having hope and longing, while remaining optimistic for the future. Encourages the belief that with each new morning there is a chance for things to improve. The chorus offers a glimmer of optimism and a chance at a resolution and redemption in the future. Captures the rollercoaster of emotions of feeling lost while loving someone who is not there for you, feeling let down and abandoned while waiting for a lover. Lost with no direction, "Now I'm up in the air with the rain in my hair, Nowhere to go, I can go anywhere" The bridge shows signs of longing and a plea for companionship. The Lyrics express a desire for authentic connection and the importance of Loving someone just as they are. "Just in passing, I'm not asking. That you be anyone but you”

I think much like another song “Anti-Matter” (that's also on the same album as this song), this one is also is inspired by a horrifying van crash the band experienced on Nov 3, 2022. This, much like the other track, sounds like it's an extension what they shared while huddled in the wreckage, as they helped frontman Garrett Russell stem the bleeding from his head wound while he was under the temporary effects of a concussion. The track speaks of where the mind goes at the most desperate & desolate of times, when it just about slips away to all but disconnect itself, and the aftermath.

Yo La Tengo
This song was originally written by a guy called Peter Gutteridge. He was one of the founders of the "Dunedin Sound" a musical scene in the south of New Zealand in the early 80s. From there it was covered by "The Clean" one of the early bands of that scene (he had originally been a member of in it's early days, writing a couple of their best early songs). The Dunedin sound, and the Clean became popular on american college radio in the mid to late 80s. I guess Yo La Tengo heard that version. Great version of a great song,

This is a sequel to 2001's "Reckless Abandon", and features the band looking back on their clumsy youth fondly.
