Well, I ain't about to go to school
And I'm sick and tired of Golden Rules
They say I'm crazy from the wrong side of the tracks
I never see them but they're always so far back

Oh, yeah, baby, how to say?
Well, lemme tell ya about this one time
How ya gonna tell me now?
Lemme put it to music, yeah, I say

Well, I'm sick and tired of cleaning room
And it's the final bell for pushing broom
Damned if I do and then I'm damned if I don't
Won't someone tell me what it is they all want?

It makes me blue
Fools, I live with fools
Blue, it makes me blue
Fools, I live with fools

I just can't take it
My teachers all gave up on me
No matter what they say, I disagree
And when I need something to soothe my soul
I listen to too much rock 'n' roll

Don't want no class reunion
The circus just left town
Why behave in public
If you're living on a playground?

It makes me blue
Fools, I live with fools
Blue, it makes me blue
Fools, I live with fools

Blue, it makes me blue
Fools, I live with fools ow
Blue, it makes me blue
Fools, I live with fools

Ah, ah, ow
All right, I say
Here they going my way uh
OH yeah, uh yeah

To me this song is just about the man coming down on you, whether it's your parents, your school, your boss or whatever.

This song reminds me of a teenager who rebels. Maybe a loner who doesn't fit into the academic mode. As a teacher I see plenty of students like this who can excel in many area's outside of school but not academically. "My teachers all gave up on me. No matter what they say, I disagree."

I love guitar riffs in this song. Classic.

Holiday
Bee Gees
@[Diderik:33655] "Your a holiday!" Was a popular term used in the 50s/60s to compliment someone on their all around. For example, not only are they beautiful, but they are fun and kind too ... just an all around "holiday". I think your first comment is closer to being accurate. The singer/song writers state "Millions of eyes can see, yet why am i so blind!? When the someone else is me, its unkind its unkind". I believe hes referring to the girl toying with him and using him. He wants something deeper with her, thats why he allows himself to be as a puppet (even though for her fun and games) as long as it makes her happy. But he knows deep down that she doesnt really want to be serious with him and thats what makes him.
