Now that she's gone, you wanna come back
Is that a fact you've got it like that?
You made me wait too long
I'm gone
Now that she's gone, you wanna come back
Is that a fact, think you've got it like that?
You made me wait too long
I'm gone

Take her to the movies
Dinner all the time
Shopping sprees for her
On me, you never spent a dime
But I was there for you
When you had nothing at all
Then, you got a little job and
She's the one you call, and now

Now that she's gone, you wanna come back (oh-oh oh)
Is that a fact you've got it like that? (oh-whoa, you made me)
You made me wait too long (and now I'm gone)
I'm gone (oh oh, oh)
Now that she's gone, you wanna come back (wanna come back)
Is that a fact, think you've got it like that? (You)
You made me wait too long (and now)
I'm gone

Oh no, you're taking me for granted
But you only get one chance
Then, you left me hurting
And it won't happen again, no, no
So, she finally left you
It ain't no surprise
That you missed your water
'Cause your well went dry, oh

Now that she's gone, you wanna come back
Is that a fact you've got it like that? (Got it like that, yeah-yeah?)
You made me wait too long (I'm gone)
I'm gone (I'm gone, oh, oh now)
Now that she's gone (now that she's gone), you wanna come back (wanna come back to me)
Is that a fact, think you've got it like that? (Got it like that, yeah)
You made me wait too long (I'm gone, I'm gone, I'm gone, I'm gone)
I'm gone (I'm gone, I'm gone, I'm gone)

Understand, I understand
Why you think I'd want you back (oh-ooh)
After what you did to me? (Yeah)
Did you think you blinded me? (oh-ooh)
Boy, you know whatever you do
It will all come back to you (oh yeah)
'Cause you tried to play me like a fool (oh yeah)
(I don't wanna say it again)
Understand, I understand
Why you think I'd want you back (ooh)
After what you did to me? (Whoa-oh-oh-oh)
Did you think you blinded me?
Boy, you know whatever you do (oh-ooh)
It will all come back to you
(It will all come back to you, you-you-you-you)

(Now that she's gone) You
Crawlin' back (ooh)
Got it like that
(You made me wait too long) Long
(I'm gone) No, oh-oh-oh oh
(Now that she's gone)
She's gone, come back, oh
(You made me wait too long)
Too long, too long, too long (I'm gone)
Too long, I'm gone

Now that she's gone (gone gone), you wanna come back (back, babe)
Is that a fact? (Fact, babe?) You've got it like that? (That, babe?)
You made me wait too long
I'm gone (gone, I gave you my heart)
Now that she's gone (I gave you my time), you wanna come back (you hurt me, baby)
Is that a fact (yes, you did), think you've got it like that? (Oh)
You made me wait too long (thought I'd wait, but too late)
I'm gone (now I'm gone)

Now that she's gone (she's gone), you wanna come back (come back)
Is that a fact (a fact) you've got it like that? (No)
You made me (made me) wait too (wait too) long (long, long, long)
I'm gone (gone, gone, gone)
Now that she's gone (she's gone), you wanna come back (come back)
Is that a fact, think you've got it like that?
You made me wait too long (wait too long)
I'm gone (gone, gone, gone, gone, gone, gone)

Now that she's gone, you wanna come back
Is that a fact you've got it like that?
You made me wait too long
I'm gone (I'm gone)

Thou shall not leave me wonderin'

So I think what she's saying here is that even though his new girlfriend left him, she'll always be there for him. I like the fact that she's not vindictive and arrogant, but rather extends herself to her hurting ex-boyfriend by offering her love once again. If only more people had this kind of enduring, selfless love. . .

herbivore i disagree i think she's saying he made her wait to long and she's over him/ his chance is over because he put dumped her for some other girl and now that the other girl dumped him he's trying to get her back.

Hayalperest
This song seemingly tackles the methods of deception those who manipulate others use to get victims to follow their demands, as well as diverting attention away from important issues. They'll also use it as a means to convince people to hate or kill others by pretending acts of terrorism were committed by the enemy when the acts themselves were done by the masters of control to promote discrimination and hate. It also reinforces the idea that these manipulative forces operate in various locations, infiltrating everyday life without detection, and propagate any and everywhere. In general, it highlights the danger of hidden agendas, manipulation, and distraction, serving as a critique of those who exploit chaos and confusion to control and gain power, depicting a cautionary tale against falling into their traps. It encourages us to question the narratives presented to us and remain vigilant against manipulation in various parts of society.

Holiday
Bee Gees
@[Diderik:33655] "Your a holiday!" Was a popular term used in the 50s/60s to compliment someone on their all around. For example, not only are they beautiful, but they are fun and kind too ... just an all around "holiday". I think your first comment is closer to being accurate. The singer/song writers state "Millions of eyes can see, yet why am i so blind!? When the someone else is me, its unkind its unkind". I believe hes referring to the girl toying with him and using him. He wants something deeper with her, thats why he allows himself to be as a puppet (even though for her fun and games) as long as it makes her happy. But he knows deep down that she doesnt really want to be serious with him and thats what makes him.

Gentle Hour
Yo La Tengo
This song was originally written by a guy called Peter Gutteridge. He was one of the founders of the "Dunedin Sound" a musical scene in the south of New Zealand in the early 80s. From there it was covered by "The Clean" one of the early bands of that scene (he had originally been a member of in it's early days, writing a couple of their best early songs). The Dunedin sound, and the Clean became popular on american college radio in the mid to late 80s. I guess Yo La Tengo heard that version. Great version of a great song,
