Lounge Lyrics

Sweet caress and tender mouth,
Kissed her breast, and then he fell, he fell

Forty days and holy nights, before the stand
Said that she would always be the man, until she found herself.

You can't stop her now.
Peace within her heart she'd seek
(And you know she will find it.) She's gonna find it
(She's not too far behind it.)

Searching for her sweet relief.
Broke the glass and stung the face that she denied

Tore the dress she wore that night ... into the fire and there she found herself.
If he could see his way to daylight.

You can't stop her now.
(Speak softer, love, in my love. Speak softer love, speak soft of love.)

I recently read an online article from Esthero herself explaining what the song is about. She was a teenager at the time and imagined a young woman in a relationship with an older man who lavishes her with the finer things in life. He truly loves her and vice versa, but she doesn't know who she is yet and longs to be free to explore the world. Her lover knows he needs to let her go, but the bigger part of him wants to keep her all to himself. I take the chorus ("Ya can't stop her now!") as her fleeing from him in order to grow. She doesn't know where she's going or who she'll meet next, but she's on the move and made the first step towards freedom. It kind of reminds me of Mariah Carey's marriage and divorce from Tommy Mottola, but I doubt Esthero was influenced by that.

My Interpretation

Sooo under rated! Saw her while I was living in Canada for a short stint! That was 20+ years ago and her music is still beautiufl and has aged like a fine wine. In general I like to say ...Beautiful words from a beautiful soul.

How she is not a bigger than she is, no idea. In a time when there is so much cr@p out there, I still think last E deserves more credit.

Love!
