I recently read an online article from Esthero herself explaining what the song is about. She was a teenager at the time and imagined a young woman in a relationship with an older man who lavishes her with the finer things in life. He truly loves her and vice versa, but she doesn't know who she is yet and longs to be free to explore the world. Her lover knows he needs to let her go, but the bigger part of him wants to keep her all to himself. I take the chorus ("Ya can't stop her now!") as her fleeing from him in order to grow. She doesn't know where she's going or who she'll meet next, but she's on the move and made the first step towards freedom. It kind of reminds me of Mariah Carey's marriage and divorce from Tommy Mottola, but I doubt Esthero was influenced by that.
