Sleepless Lyrics
And I often sigh
I often wonder why
I'm still here and I still cry
And I often cry
I often spill a tear
Over those not here
But still they are so near
Please ease my burden
And I still remember
A memory and I weep
In my broken sleep
The scars they cut so deep
Please ease my burden
Please ease my pain
Surely without war there would be no loss
Hence no mourning, no grief, no pain, no misery
No sleepless nights missing the dead... Oh, no more
No more war
I often wonder why
I'm still here and I still cry
I often spill a tear
Over those not here
But still they are so near
And I still remember
A memory and I weep
In my broken sleep
The scars they cut so deep
Please ease my pain
Hence no mourning, no grief, no pain, no misery
No sleepless nights missing the dead... Oh, no more
No more war

This is kind of an emotional song. Losing a loved one is always very painful and hard to get over. The thing is that you can never just forget somebody, especially when they died. You get reminded of the loss occasionally, which brings all the feelings that go with it back to the surface so you fall down, feeling small because there's nothing to do about it. There's no escape from death and that is very hard to live with until your time has come . -RIP-
i love this song... its a coversong- the original is by Anathema. i went to an Anathema gig awhile back and they played it live and it was great... i actually like Cradle Of Filth's version better though. xox
the best cradle song yet. even tho it is a cover, i should say best song that cof can ever cover.
yeah its alright this song, most ppl would say the album is shite except "from the cradle...", but i disagree, its not the best but i think both the covers on the album are better than the originals, infact ive listened to all CoF's covers i think, and to be honest i think they do a good job of them, "Black Metal" is a top cover.
this is a great song it sort of brings out dani's emotional side
'Surely without war there would be no loss' <-- obviously the song is an anti-war song pondering the existence of wars when they only cause pain
