Caldecott Tunnel is in CA, in Berkeley Hills. I spent so long thinking that this was about the fire in third bore, when they closed that and the adjacent bore, but... it can't be. I'm pretty sure it's about two girls, one who he isn't necessarily with, but who wants to be with him, and doesn't know he's with the other girl. So he needs to let her know, but gently, because he doesn't want to hurt her. I know that really, the only person who can say is Andrew McMahon, but until then...I'm happy with that interpretation, I think.

this song is so beautiful. to just listen to. i don't know. i'm noticing a recurring city locale theme with something corporate, but i didn't even mind. i heard this + loved it. aww. it's great.

I've definatly overanalyzed this song, i mean how can you not, if the lyrics are stupid, the song has no point, but anyways, there are 2 different girls you and she and he has to let her down easy, while he stays with you, or at least that is what i think it means.

I think that the songs just for one girl. he needs to let go of her, but he knows it'll be hard. it's a long distance relationship, and that's why they're breaking up. he's talking about what could've been if they didn't have to break up. at least, that's what i think.

i think that it's all about trying to let some one go with out hurting them, but then he kinda realizes that it's impossible to do that withsoe one you love. well, that's what it remins me off....
