Mulligan Goes To War Lyrics
He graduated with a degree in Poli-Sci
Premeditated what he would do until he died
And then he faded into a never-rising sky
Surfaced in the airforce, then learned how to fly
Mulligan goes to war
Mulligan goes to war
The days are gone
when he could tell you what he's fighting for
Mulligan goes to war
Flew helicopters with a patriotic grin
Built up brick walls, rarely letting people in
Had his pitfalls and he lived a life of sin
That life is over now, the new one must begin
Mulligan goes to war
Mulligan goes to war
The days are gone
when he could tell you what he's fighting for
Mulligan goes to war
We all gotta go sometimes
Made his living selling real estate
Met his first wife, she came much too late
To save the low man, he was slowly growing mad
He lost his business, the economy went bad
Mulligan goes to war
Mulligan goes to war
The days are gone
when he could tell you what he's fighting for
Mulligan goes to war
Premeditated what he would do until he died
And then he faded into a never-rising sky
Surfaced in the airforce, then learned how to fly
Mulligan goes to war
The days are gone
when he could tell you what he's fighting for
Mulligan goes to war
Built up brick walls, rarely letting people in
Had his pitfalls and he lived a life of sin
That life is over now, the new one must begin
Mulligan goes to war
The days are gone
when he could tell you what he's fighting for
Mulligan goes to war
Met his first wife, she came much too late
To save the low man, he was slowly growing mad
He lost his business, the economy went bad
Mulligan goes to war
The days are gone
when he could tell you what he's fighting for
Mulligan goes to war

I only have a question about one of the lines in this song. When it goes "To save the low man" when i first heard this i thought that low man meant Loman like Willy Loman from Death of a Salesman. Willy eventually drove himslef crazy. That is just what i thought, if anybody knows?
SORRY, I DONT KNOW EITHER. ive knever heard this song before, but the lyrics are tight and i would love to hear it sometime
I think the song kinda shows how the war and what happens to people there. it can change someone so much. it can even drive them crazy. i like the lines "The days are gone when he could tell you what he's fighting for" and the way that you hear all the guys yelling "Mulligan" when it's sang is a really cool effect.
i thought it was "serviced" in the air force not suface???
no no no all you guys are wrong about this song... i know with the drummers brother and when the band was in high school there was a teacher named Mr. mulligan...and the song is his life story
the lyrics are actually "to save the lone man" i think.
yah something corporate came from CALI!! oh yah.. cali pride.. mauhaahahah
I attend the high school where Mr. Mulligan teaches, and a friend and I asked him if this song pertains to his life. The song is about his life, and he did teach the guys in the band at Dana Hills High School in Dana Point. Now you all know that this isn't just a rumor, the song is indeed about Mr. Mulligan. If you'd like to see for yourself, go to our school's website: http://www.sctritons.com/ and click on teacher schedules. If you scroll down for awhile, you can see his picture. Hope this helps with determining the meaning of the song!
