Markovian Process Lyrics
You will all say that I am surely crazy
Only an unrepentant pessimist whose thoughts should be detained
But facts are sterile, not vulgar nor sublime
And they're not religion, they're for everyone
And signify the times
Today is a window, tomorrow the landscape
All you need to do is take a look outside
To know what we're bound to face
The level of disparity
The common man
The manner of destruction of the native land
The poverty of reprisal from all involved
And the scathing trajectory from the past
Markovian process lead us not in vain
Prove to our descendants what we did to them
Then make us go away
Only an unrepentant pessimist whose thoughts should be detained
But facts are sterile, not vulgar nor sublime
And they're not religion, they're for everyone
And signify the times
Today is a window, tomorrow the landscape
All you need to do is take a look outside
To know what we're bound to face
The common man
The manner of destruction of the native land
The poverty of reprisal from all involved
And the scathing trajectory from the past
Prove to our descendants what we did to them
Then make us go away

A markovian process is a random process whose future probabilities are determined by its most recent values.
consequently the song is about how we are ignoring the world around us and some day will have to answer to our kids and grandkids
"just take a look around outside to know what we're about to face".
Basically the Markovian Process indicates that if something happened once, it will happen again, so Fukushima-like event in the US, check etc...
"Show to your ancestors what you did to them and then just go away" Get old and tell your kids how things used to be better when everything was the same just lower scale.
Forgot to say, a beautiful melody for such a short B side song. Only Leaders & Followers from the STF B-side is not that awesome, should have given us those songs originally and dropped the re-recording of 21st century...If I have to hear this song again...

@psionicz If i understand correct you suggest that if something is a markovian process it indicates that if something happened once it will happen again. This is not true - the description above from 2002 however is correct. What hapens at the current time period indicates what happens at tomorrows time period - and to be nit picking what happened in the prior time period only affect the comming timeperiod through the current.

If you are suggesting the idea of an attractor (i.e. a process with a time consistent mean, or other moment), then not all markovian processes has this. An example is the classical I(1) process:
y(t)=y(t-1)+e(t), where e(t)=d= N(0,v).
This process has no mean, and in fact not a single fractional moment, and what happened at time t is very unlikely to ever happen again. to be precise, the probability of it happening again is 0.
What the line "just take a look around outside to know what we're about to face" is essentially saying, if we have to combine it with the name of the song is: That what we do today and how we behave towards each other today and the world will have consequences in the future - and that we should be able to predict these consequences.
