It's A Crime I Never Told You About The Diamonds In Your Eyes Lyrics
Down by the old fire range
You wouldn't hear a sound from my lips
But maybe someday I will see
Cause it was a crime I never told about the diamonds in your eyes
It's a crime I never told you about the diamonds in your eyes
And maybe someday we will be
Away with the wind we'll go
By the sea we'll float
Away with the wind we'll go
A million miles away
Away with the wind we'll blow
To the sea we'll float
Down along the way
Down along the way
And maybe someday I will say
I'll say please, please
Don't tear your heart from me
Cause it was a crime I never told about the diamonds in your eyes
It's a crime I never told you about the diamonds in your eyes
And maybe someday we will be
Away with the wind we'll go
By the sea we'll float
And away with the wind we'll go
A million miles away
And you'll say maybe someday we will be
And you'll say please please
Don't tear your heart from me
Away with the wind we'll go
By the sea we'll float
Away with the wind we'll blow
By the sea we'll float
Down along the way
Down along the way
Down along the way
You wouldn't hear a sound from my lips
But maybe someday I will see
Cause it was a crime I never told about the diamonds in your eyes
It's a crime I never told you about the diamonds in your eyes
Away with the wind we'll go
By the sea we'll float
Away with the wind we'll go
A million miles away
Away with the wind we'll blow
To the sea we'll float
Down along the way
Down along the way
I'll say please, please
Don't tear your heart from me
Cause it was a crime I never told about the diamonds in your eyes
It's a crime I never told you about the diamonds in your eyes
Away with the wind we'll go
By the sea we'll float
And away with the wind we'll go
A million miles away
And you'll say maybe someday we will be
And you'll say please please
Don't tear your heart from me
Away with the wind we'll go
By the sea we'll float
Away with the wind we'll blow
By the sea we'll float
Down along the way
Down along the way
Down along the way

This is an amazing, uptempo song about a man's regrets and wishes that won't come true. He starts the song mournful that he didn't do enough to keep his love near him, that he took her for granted. Later in the song it switches from 'i'll say please, please dont tear your heart from me' to 'you'll say please...', perhaps showing that the man truly doesn't deserve her- that he hasn't changed and feels he wasn't completely at fault. Maybe I'm way off, but that's how I see it.
i love this song! im glad i finally found the lyrics to this and all the other black heart procession songs
fuck yes this song is so great i love it i think it means that this guy never told some girl about the diamonds in her eyes
@andro666: Good one.
Or maybe, it's about someone who doesn't have the nerve to tell he's in love with this girl (or guy). He fantasises about how it would be if he would have the nerve to say it (And maybe someday we'll...). Then they will be in love, and he'll say "Please Please Don't tear your heart from me", because he loves her so much. Now (he's in love but he can't say it) he's in the underdog position, but Maybe Someday, the you-person will say "Don't tear your heart from me" to him. He fantasises about that too.
It's definitely about someone regretting not saying something to someone he loved, but the coolest part of this song is the whole ragtime piano idea. It's got that 30s piano bar type feel and it's awesome.
