this is a sinking anchor that we hold so dear
were you worn out from the start cut out and never replaced
you held at arms length
you so afraid
you by the waterfront
you still alive
you move away
you want to wash away what ills your heart
you stand by the waterfront never sure of your choice
this is a sinking road that we all travel on
you by the waterfront
you swollen with a crime

General CommentI think all those stupid goth bands in the world should take note. This is is real goth, real misery... not fake and painted on.
    Stupid goths.
And as for Emo bands... jesus... Goth on a Hot Wash.

General CommentThis song has a very unique atmosphere that just pulls you in. And for xdvr... maybe your right....please dont use the word 'emo' unless you know what it really is. Don't be the product of this misconception.

General CommentWe could go into this on here, but it won't go very far will it?
I know what Emo is and I also know what it was.

I grew up on Fugazi, Big Black, Quicksand, etc... etc... when it actually wasn't just a teenage tantrum.

I know what Goth was and what it is now.

Neither genres bear that much similarity to what it was originally.
Both are now good labels of music to avoid for being corporate trash.

US Goth appears to think it's just an image thing - that the music doesn't matter, that you can just be a dodgy emo metal band with make up and that makes you a goth.

And Emo... is just the same image driven bunch of idiots. Ahhh you're so alternative... not.

    I win. Oops.

General CommentI think it's supposed to be "ails your heart"... but yeah, definitely my first BHP song too, and I love 'em.

General CommentNot 1 person has commented on these ebautiful lyrics yet!!!

The BHP are the best band in the world right now. Amaazing

I think the song is either about anti Bush U.S.A:

you want to wash away what ills your heart
    you swollen with a crime

OR its about a criminal that got away with a crime.
