Thousand Fold Lyrics

i have no desire to make contact with all the thought of "no, no".
i shiver now, to think of how this answer asked her, no.
long time gone.
i run to my hide out.

there ain't a star born that brightens
more than you, you always should have known, joan.
i'll illuminate your question,
long time ago I'd died and gone.

what has brought the question?
time has brought the question.
come and call the question, oh, oh, oh.
here are the stars, same thing again

over, over, over, over, over, over

over, over, over, over, over, over.

nothing beats this line:

"there ain't a star born that brightens more than you, you always should have known, Joan."

very heartwarming and romantic... His proclamation of love for Joan Wasser.

Not sure what he's saying after 'should have known' but I don't think it's 'Joan' - Thousandfold is more likely a response/reference to Liz Fraser's liner note dedication in the Cocteau Twins Milk and Kisses album: 'love and a thousandfold rose to buckley' - which came out in 96. This song sounds like a lament to someone he's lost, not his girlfriend at the time. Like Morning a Theft, this is a love song for Fraser.

Wow, I never realized he was singing "Joan" at that one part. Also when he sings "Long time ago I'd died and gone," does anyone else think it sounds like "Long time grown"??

@kaybeeoh I hear it too, "long time grown"!
