Yard Of Blonde Girls Lyrics

through the yard, through the yard of blonde girls.
through the river and the sea.
gold sharks glittering.
a tree of white breaks the earth.
the streets where lola played.
very sexy, very sexy.

okay, okay.
fear, we may come. (X 4)

so run, run, run, run, run, run, run.

it's in your heart, it's in your art, your beauty.
even in this world of lies, there's purity,
you've got innocence in your eyes.
even in this world of lies, you're still hopeful.
very sexy, very sexy,
okay, okay.
fear, we may come. (X 4)

so run, run, run, run, run, run, run.

through the yard, through the yard of blonde girls.
through the river and the sea.
gold sharks glittering.
a tree of white breaks the earth.
the streets where lola played.
very sexy, very sexy.

okay, okay.
fear, we may come. (X 4)

so run, run, run, run, run, run, run.

I'm not sure if I'm in agreement with the first person who commented on this song, but it's just a matter of how you look at it, I guess. I always thought that this song meant that the typical blonde, manipulative, substance-lacking girls were the enemies. The sharks. I imagine a girl standing out among a sea of them all, with her own personality, her own views...the other girls may be very sexy but she is also attractive...in a whole other way...like she sets herself apart because of her genuineness and inexperience so that she's hopeful in a world of deceit...in the yard of blonde girls. Eh? I don't know haha.

Yard of Blonde Girls was written by two sisters from the band The 360's. One of the sisters had a friend who committed suicide. The line "a tree of white breaks the earth" refers to the crosses in the graveyard. Re-read the lyrics and you'll get the message. A wonderful song written by two amazing singer/songwriters and powerfully interpreted by Jeff Buckley.

Well I'm not sure what you're sayng as I speak Englsh and a little french but not that language; Using the french, I can see something about the song being "very sad", and that's all I think. In my POV, I think this is a very cool rock song cover. I'm rather surprised there haven't been that many comments on this song.

I think this song is about being tired about having everything in the world, and how drab it is to be 'sexy'

i'm not sure what this means, but to me it's about too many dyed blondes, and some are real. i'm not sure about the fear part. but i thought it said, "it's in your argent beauty" which would make sense, as argent means silver or white.

AT first blush, I can almost imagine it's about the archetypical Marilyn Monroe and the industry's exploitation of that archetype where "blonde" is just a metaphor for someone naive being sucked into the succubus of the entertainment industry only to be spat out into the sea.The water references are also a metaphor for the ocean of crap they've had to endure to ironically end up there anyway. Just my dos centyavos
