Under My Feet Lyrics
So this is how it feels to suffer!
And I had so much to say.
But it’s over now
And, I’m going down,
Alone, alone!
I’ve, no guarantees;
I recognize my disease.
Before my time is,
Gone, is all I’ve found.
Can’t get the hell off the ground,
Out from under my feet!
Promises and wishes, all mean nothing,
When it’s me that I’m speaking to
Wanting, something, won’t mean,
I, will, see, it, through.
Don’t need to see these visions to remind me
That I’m dying from the inside out
Wanting you here,
still means, I, must, do, without!
I can’t criticize your reasons for living(leaving?)
When I’m the one missing them
Wanting, dreaming that I may
Find where they come from.
Find where they come from
(Where they come from)
and I dream you
and I want to
Be near you
But I can’t get up, out from under my feet
And I’ve tried to
But I can’t get it through
I need to
Gone is all I’ve found
Can’t get the hell off the ground
Out from under my feet
So this is how it feels, you sucker
And you’ve had so much to say
But it’s over now
You’re finally going down
Alone, alone!
And I had so much to say.
But it’s over now
And, I’m going down,
Alone, alone!
I recognize my disease.
Before my time is,
Gone, is all I’ve found.
Can’t get the hell off the ground,
Out from under my feet!
When it’s me that I’m speaking to
Wanting, something, won’t mean,
I, will, see, it, through.
That I’m dying from the inside out
Wanting you here,
still means, I, must, do, without!
When I’m the one missing them
Wanting, dreaming that I may
Find where they come from.
Find where they come from
(Where they come from)
and I want to
Be near you
But I can’t get up, out from under my feet
But I can’t get it through
I need to
Gone is all I’ve found
Can’t get the hell off the ground
Out from under my feet
And you’ve had so much to say
But it’s over now
You’re finally going down
Alone, alone!

one part of this song is screwed up
its suppost to be:
Promises and wishes are nothing When it’s me that I’m speaking to Wanting something wont mean I will see it thru
its my favorite part too because ive hard various porblems in my life that i promised myself id fix...then id go rite back to doing it even though i promised myself not to.
promises and wishes all mean nothing when its me that i'm speaking to.
I really love that part too - its so true, its almost impossible to make promises to oneself. and it is awful when you find that out by attempting to.
It is clearly about somebody with a slight mental disorder, not "retardation" but more like acute scitzo or obssesive compulsive disorder
aaddrr is close to the mark, actually.
I believe that this song is actually a continuing story started with "Stay with me (Unlikely)". The voices have succeded in pushing his lover away, leaving him alone, and in his own mind he suffers over his inability to control himself. At the end the voices mock him.
See my masterful analysis of "Stay with me (Unlikely)" and see what you think. ;)
Lots of problems with the lyrics, but besides the corrections already made... "Hallelujah" is "I'm not letting go", and the line goes "Wanting you here still means I'm almost doing without." That is my absolute favorite line, and it really shows his struggle for acceptance and his attempt to move on. And it's not " fall too beneath you," it's "want to be near you." And God is NOT all he's found. "Gone" is all he's found.
this song is so amazingly beautiful, and it perfectly captures the struggle that is faced after something beautiful comes to an end.
i'm crazy about this song... makes me think. My fav bit is ' I don’t need to see these visions to remind me That I’m dying from the inside out Wanting you here still means i must do without.'!! man i just want to listen to it over and over.. so i might go do that... LOL. it also has great music!!
plus.. who ever wrote these lyrics( on this page) needs to get their ears checked.. so much of the lyrics are wrong!!!!
Why does everyone keep saying its an old lover hes talking about? ITS HIS CHRISTIANITY CONFLICT!
I think this song, and almost all of his songs, is meant to mean something different to everyone else. While for him it may refer to his conflict with christianity, I think he wants it to be whatever you want it to be.
This sounds to me like its betrayal. Just at the end it sounds like the tables have turned.
It could also mean that the point of views switched. Maybe it does have to do with his christianity conflict. Klay is the sufferer and God is the one saying at the end:
"So this is how it feels, you sucker And youve had too much to say But its over now Youre finally going down Alone, alone "
idk, just throwing possibilities out there
"Hallelujah" is not hallelujah. Nor is it "I'm not letting go". It's much more simple than that: "Na na na na na"
I think this song is pretty clearly about betrayal. Though what I can't say.
Also I think it is "god is all I've found" though this wouldn't be the first time I couldn't tell if Klayton was saying "God" or "gone" (see Angeldust's "Darkests Days")
