Sigh Your Children Lyrics
Sigh your children
Who have we?
All our lives & countless years
When your world
A glass heart aches
Wraps us unheard, unscathed
Will we, your children
Pine away
Your good news our destiny?
Is it something wrong
If this is what I want?
My time to fuck shit up.
When all your gods
Turn to stone
Throw them all
Out the door.
Who have we?
All our lives & countless years
When your world
A glass heart aches
Wraps us unheard, unscathed
Will we, your children
Pine away
Your good news our destiny?
Is it something wrong
If this is what I want?
My time to fuck shit up.
When all your gods
Turn to stone
Throw them all
Out the door.

the last few lines sounds like conor is kinda saying dont expect your idols to hang around for ever, and they arent all they are cracked up to be anyway. i believe the whole concept of madonna is the worship of icons in our modern day, or something like that. any other suggestions?

I wish his song was around when I was about 13, because it would have fit the angst perfectly.
i lvoe conrads singing in this song. i especially love the "when all your gods turn to stone throw them all out the door." part.
I totally agree with sean7711 that this song is about telling kids their idols will be gone and fallen. However, I should mention that after a soul-sucking break up with a person I was in mad love with, all I had left were my feelings that I knew I had to turn to stone and throw all of them out the door. That was my mantra for a year.
I believe it’s about worshipping false idols, particularly your parents. After they die, it’s time to fuck shit up.
It is absolutely about worshiping false idols, particularly your parents, as one had mentioned. However, unless it was meant metaphorically, the time to f s up isn't when your parents are dead but when you realize that your parents are just as clueless as you are about everything. That is the time to f*** up the paradigms and beliefs they have bestowed upon you. Or if you don't want to destroy them, the door is there too...
