This is completely beautiful song, my favorite song by my favorite band. They played in live in Dallas Mar. 02' and it blew me away live, very powerful. The last verse is so fucking perfect and bitter.
when i first heard this song, i couldn't stop listening to it and i still can't, it's one of my favorites. man, trail of dead is so damn awesome.
to the sounds of it... it seems like everything was nice at first but then he noticed the flaws in her and she fucked up and he is done with her even though she isnt done with him... or something...
i think he doesnt want her to come back to him after she realizes she screwed up. connor is really hurt that he put all his effort into this and she didnt, and that if she came back he'll just be like "fuck you"

yeah. pretty much at first everything seemed so right until he realized their differences in everything, as well as how unfaithful she turned out to be (what good are promises if nobody honors them?). and in the second verse he starts to reflect all the memories they did share when their relationship first started, and then of the things they couldve had if she hadnt deceived him. so he just had to let her go. and tells her not to ask why because its quite obvious why. and he just doesnt want anything to do with her already, even if she still wants him.
I saw TOD in concert and before Conrad played this song, he said it was about "unrequited love". Basically its Conrad looking back at a relationship where he was putting in all the effort and affection while the other person is indifferent at the most.
