this song reminds me of my situation with my friend, we've taken steps into something we shudnt have done sorta, me n him, well i always liked him ya know thought he was cute etc. etc. he was always over friendly, flirtacious ya kno the type but he was like it with everyone, then we got drunk and he kissed me, like proper... we did other stuff but not like sex or ne thing which was fine by me, his sister told me he really liked me but after that it ended in tears, we told each other we didnt like each other n we ended up growin apart but the other day it was my bday and some stuff happened again n now we're closer and now we've taken the first steps its like it will never be the same again, ya know wot i mean? i can just relate to the words

omg princess i went through almost all the same stuff u did. but instead of getting closer in the end, it all crashed and burned and now we barely speak. i still like him but its just gotten too weird and i feel as if i have to start from the very bottom of the barrel :(:( but anyway, this song is awesome i love it! mel c has such a great voice!

oh yes.... I think everyone experiences things like that at least once... I also fell in love with my best friend once... ahem... best friend at that time... of course things changed after some things went on between us and everything changed after we crossed this "border"... I don't know, but I think I wouldn't do it again...

I only have best guy friends... hes just the only straight one... we dont really spend too much time together now, we go to different colleges, but when we do, we're closer than ever its nice to know other people appreciate mels lyrics coz they can relate to them :)

This is one of my favorite songs of all time. It is the song shared by myself and one of my best friends. We have been falling apart over the years, and I bought the CD import single for her as a Christmas present. It's just too bad that Left Eye is not with us anymore. I'm a huge fan of TLC as well.

wow, ive had this song on repeat for the las few weeks, it completely sums up a frienship of me and a guy! weve known each other forever but now we've messed it up by crossin over that line! were still mates but never again will we be close like we once were! and i jus wan say fink before u mess fings up! i regret it so much and wish he was jus as close as ever like before!

I can relate to this song so much as well, I guess we've all have been there. But my situation was a little different, since we started flirting since the day we met and we kissed and everything, but in a couple of months it did naturally evolve into something else and become only good, soooo close friends. We were like that for like two years and a half!!! until we separated for a while...and then when we got close again I could see something different in him...and once he invited me over to his house like he did a million time before and he had apparently prepared it all to make me fall for him, and he kissed me again and I just couldn't fight it. But, exactly like this song portraits it, it was NEVER the same again...the relationship you used to have either turns into "real love", or you grow more and more apart. For me, he remains the image of my first lovemaking, and for a while I escaped him, and it all simply became strange between us. He started to see me like "another girl on his list" and I could never change -or wanted to change- that, once you get that point, you can't go back...so think deeply about it before you do it... The sad part is that I lost (though I still speak to him, and he still thinks of me as a friend in a way -or I hope so-) my closest person...but maybe it just had to happened. But don't get sex come between you and a friend you care for...If then you don't end up as a close you will end up confused...and a little bit used as well.

i mean, what could be wrong if you start dating your best friend, i know my mother would be pleased!!!! and out friends also the same, like the perfect ending for a relationship that started like friends... BUT NO, she says that she doesnt care what everyone will say, that means people will actually have opinions and critics, and no good ones, as she doesnt care, i think i would care for good opinions...
