They tried to catch a falling star.
Thinking that she had gone too far.
She did but kept it hidden well.
Until she cracked and then she fell.

If all the history is true.
She's gonna end up just like you.
You made it to the other side.
But tell me who will be my guide.

They build you up so they can tear you down.
Trust the ocean you'll never drown.
Who is next? Who's gonna steal your crown?
You'll see.

I have learnt my lesson well.
The truth is out there I can tell.
Don't look back and don't give in to their lies and goodbyes.
Northern Star.

Fulfil the longing in your heart.
Then we will never be apart.
And if they dare to question you.
Just tell them that our love is true.

They buy your dreams so they can sell your soul.
Is it any wonder we've lost control?
Feelings come, feelings go.

I have learnt my lesson well.
The truth is out there I can tell.
Don't look back and don't succumb to their lies and goodbyes.
Live your life without regret.
Don't be someone who they forget.
When you're lost reach out for me.
And you'll see she's not far.
Northern Star.
Northern Star.

Northern Star.

This song is not about the EU!

I think I read somewhere it is about fame and the showbiz industry. It is about life in that environment and the lessons she's learnt. As a former Spice Girl she would have experienced the ups and downs of the industry.

    Lovely song.

    My Interpretation

"On 31 May 1998, Halliwell announced that she had left the Spice Girls due to natural depression and differences between the group. The first official confirmation was an announcement to the media by her solicitor on 31 May." en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Geri_Halliwell

"Melanie C began her solo career in late 1998 by singing with Canadian rock singer Bryan Adams on the song "When You're Gone". Her solo debut album Northern Star was released in 1999."

    en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Melanie_Chisholm_discography

The northern star is known as Polaris, the star that lets people find their way or guide them when traveling by any means. Read the lyrics to Melanie Chisholm's song as if Geri Halliwell were that star...

"They tried to catch a falling star. Thinking that she had gone too far. She did but kept it hidden well. Until she cracked and then she fell."

Something to think about, and also what the theme of the album is about.

She sings about a person "Northstar" Who is looking for a girl. Mel do not know if they will get together but she does her best for them to have contact with each other. The boy has come in at a state as he looks at the world in a different way. Mel carrying a cross on his shirt, so unlikely is that it is spiritual.

"If all the history is true Shes gonna end up just like you You made it to the other side But tell me who will be my guide"

talking about other scandinavian countries and how tough is it in the EU.

They build you up so they can tear you down Trust the ocean youll never drown Who is next? Whos gonna steal your crown?

Son Şansın - Şarkı Sözleri
Hayalperest
This song seemingly tackles the methods of deception those who manipulate others use to get victims to follow their demands, as well as diverting attention away from important issues. They'll also use it as a means to convince people to hate or kill others by pretending acts of terrorism were committed by the enemy when the acts themselves were done by the masters of control to promote discrimination and hate. It also reinforces the idea that these manipulative forces operate in various locations, infiltrating everyday life without detection, and propagate any and everywhere. In general, it highlights the danger of hidden agendas, manipulation, and distraction, serving as a critique of those who exploit chaos and confusion to control and gain power, depicting a cautionary tale against falling into their traps. It encourages us to question the narratives presented to us and remain vigilant against manipulation in various parts of society.

Overall about difficult moments of disappointment and vulnerability. Having hope and longing, while remaining optimistic for the future. Encourages the belief that with each new morning there is a chance for things to improve. The chorus offers a glimmer of optimism and a chance at a resolution and redemption in the future. Captures the rollercoaster of emotions of feeling lost while loving someone who is not there for you, feeling let down and abandoned while waiting for a lover. Lost with no direction, "Now I'm up in the air with the rain in my hair, Nowhere to go, I can go anywhere" The bridge shows signs of longing and a plea for companionship. The Lyrics express a desire for authentic connection and the importance of Loving someone just as they are. "Just in passing, I'm not asking. That you be anyone but you”

I think much like another song “Anti-Matter” (that's also on the same album as this song), this one is also is inspired by a horrifying van crash the band experienced on Nov 3, 2022. This, much like the other track, sounds like it's an extension what they shared while huddled in the wreckage, as they helped frontman Garrett Russell stem the bleeding from his head wound while he was under the temporary effects of a concussion. The track speaks of where the mind goes at the most desperate & desolate of times, when it just about slips away to all but disconnect itself, and the aftermath.

Blue
Ed Sheeran
“Blue” is a song about a love that is persisting in the discomfort of the person experiencing the emotion. Ed Sheeran reflects on love lost, and although he wishes his former partner find happiness, he cannot but admit his feelings are still very much there. He expresses the realization that he might never find another on this stringed instrumental by Aaron Dessner.

American Town
Ed Sheeran
Ed Sheeran shares a short story of reconnecting with an old flame on “American Town.” The track is about a holiday Ed Sheeran spends with his countrywoman who resides in America. The two are back together after a long period apart, and get around to enjoying a bunch of fun activities while rekindling the flames of their romance.
