Spaceship Landing Lyrics

You've been in back of me. Yeah.
Feeling sensibly. Yeah.
I'm tired of the words.
When my back ain't around here.

No more you and me, yeah.
No more listening, yeah.
Tired of your words,
all your words are so backwards.

Being as lost as can be, yeah.
Touch of purity, yeah.
If you're gonna go now,
Well I want to go with you.

Oh yeah, you’re a fucked up man
with a fucked up plan...Oh Yeah...

Did I say too much?
You didn't want me to hear.
Did I say too much?
I didn't want me to see here.
Oh, did I leave too much?
I'm not sure I should leave here.
Did I hate too much?
I'm thinking someone should bleed here.

Why the finger?
It's all right.
Me and you could...,
it's all right.
Straighten me out,
it's all right.
Guiding my life,
it's all right.
There you go,
it's all right.
Wait up and turn me in,
it's all right.
Helping you out man,
it's all right.
Help me in,
I just might.

I´ve been listening to this shit for weeks and have never got tired of it... One of the best pieces of music that Kyuss dared to create. First of all I seem to have listened "Feeling sent to me" instead of "feeling sensibly", but who cares... I think this song is about a person with a split personality. All trough the song is Garcia singing one part of the melody and there´s another man answering him as whispering. The "first" person seems pretty upset about something the "second" person did and here we can relate the "Did I say too much" "Did I hate too much" parts. In the begging the first personality is aware and tries to get rid of the second, but in the end the second one convinces the first and they agree to keep getting along as usual but one of them don´t seem to be happy about it. Well, this explanation is freaking sick but I think it fits with the lyric and with the music too, just listen to the last riff.... I liked the "friends" explanation above too

@eye.4.an.eye Thanks

Bagpipe seems to have it perfect, but the explanation can be fleshed out a lot more. Assume the song is like an argument between two friends, with the singer switching back and forth between each friend.

"You've been in back of me/Feeling sensibly" - Each friend always has the other's back, will always tell them when they're doing something stupid.

"No more you and me/No more listening" - When one is told what they don't want to hear, they get angry and continue anyway.

"If you're gonna go now/Well I wanna go with you" - Even though the advice is ignored, the friends will still stick together and see it through.

"Oh yeah you're a fucked up man, with a fucked up plan" - Ties in with the idea of one friend having a stupid idea, the other knows its messed up, but goes along anyway.

The "did i say too much?" paragraph is when it goes as expected and 'I told you so' sets in; the verse is just the argument between them, rising in anger towards the end.

This is counterbalanced by the final verse ("Why the finger? It's all right..."), the friends stop arguing, acknowledge what they do for each other and vow to keep doing it ("Helping you out man/Help me man" [written as "help me in" but I swear it's 'help me man'...]).

And then presumably, the cycle repeats... If you had a best friend while at college/school (or whenever your willder years were) or something similar, you'll probably know where this song is coming from.

Hidden bit in the song half-way through the silence, not Day One but a 20 second clip of jibberish.

Being happy, and content, ready to die feeling fulfilled. Then being brought back down to earth by a fucked up man with a fucked up plan.
