In regards to the meaning of this song:
Before a live performance on the EP Five Stories Falling, Geoff states “It’s about the last time I went to visit my grandmother in Columbus, and I saw that she was dying and it was the last time I was going to see her. It is about realizing how young you are, but how quickly you can go.”
That’s the thing about Geoff and his sublime poetry, you think it’s about one thing, but really it’s about something entirely different. But the lyrics are still universal and omnipresent, ubiquitous, even. So relatable. That’s one thing I love about this band. I also love their live performances, raw energy and Geoff’s beautiful, imperfectly perfect vocals. His voice soothes my aching soul.

The two are back together after a long period apart, and get around to enjoying a bunch of fun activities while rekindling the flames of their romance.
This song makes me really sad. I'm sad and sometimes it feels good to be sad. I'm so lonesome and don't feel like I'm really part of anything. Even the things I'm in I'm always on the outside of. I've always been that way. Have had a million friends and been the best friend to many people but it was never reciprocated. No one ever wants/Ed to be my best friend. Even though I know I do it's like I don't deserve it. I'm very desperate indeed which is so desperate. I've come to terms with certain things and I have to accept what is. I hate feeling sorry for myself but sometimes it's okay to feel. Pain is better than feeling nothing at all. Yep, here I go again
