Flowers In The Window Lyrics
Yeah, I agree.I think it's a very positive song saying there's hope for us, we'll find "The One", its about somone finding The One and wanting to spend his/her life with him/her and have children etc., hence the lyrics:
"So now we're here and now is fine So far away from there And there is time, time, time To plant new seeds and watch them grow So there'll be flowers in the window when we go"
The seeds mentioned in the above lyrics may be a metafor for having kids, but also just for the love between the two people in the song. There you go. My opinion:)
This song means a lot to me because its one of the many Travis songs that I can relate to my life. I think it's about thinking that no one could ever possible love you, and just being resigned to the fact that your existence will be lonely. But then you find someone that spins your whole world upside-down onto its ass, and then the world is lovely and amazing and you just want to share it all with that person.
I went to a Travis concert last year and Fran dedicated this song to all the couples there that were expecting a baby.
It may be about having a baby, it may be about a girlfriend, its just one of those wonderful love songs that means something special and something different to everyone.
I think that it's about couples... happy couples... who are so in love with each other... they want to be together 'till the end of the world... :]
what violetzebras said! plus, these lines: "It's just a bunch of feelings that we have to hold But I am here to help you with the load" when i heard that, it gave me a lot of hope.
i heard it was about having children. "so there'll be flowers in the window when we go" like, leaving your mark on the world. i agree with you guys too.
This song means so much to me because it is me. I finally found my love and this song just makes me think of him:)
fran wrote it about nora....it's just kinda a love song for her...
is it just me, or is this song the most like the beatles than anything i've heard by them before
@ilya I agree, I first heard this song shortly after the death of George Harrison and thought that one of his tracks had been released as a single until the dj said it was Travis.

It's about growing old with the person you love.
I went to a Travis concert just last Thursday, he dedicated it to all the women in the crowd.
