Enemy Lyrics
Listen down you little man
I'm not the one who's trying to change you
And if you come to understand it will be okay
you need to change it now
I'm not the one who's trying to be your enemy
There's something you need to
change
I went in killing the sun
I once one
I'm not the one who's trying to change you
And if you come to understand it will be okay
you need to change it now
I'm not the one who's trying to be your enemy
There's something you need to
change
I once one

I think that this song shows a father speaking to his son, but in the end the guy just refuse the father's opinion.
It is about a man who is trying to enter into a relaitonship with a girl who is afraid to open up to him. The girl is fearful that her world will collapse, and she is terrified of the change. However, Travis wants to stress that he only wants to enter the girl's life and give her everything he's got.
As the song changes mood to the second half, where Meeks repeats "I went in killing the sun, I onec won" he implies that he has given up on winning the girl's love. He once went in killing the very sun, he was invincible, passionate, in love... he was once blinded by the love he had. He attempted to kill the sun, and when he did, he realized that there was nothing behind the bright flash of light that corrupted his vision and his judgement. In essence, he has given up.
Well the whole Green Album is a concept album, and has something to do with Travis Meeks himself. I guess it's the beginning of some sort of conglict in his life if you look at it as a part of a whole.
The third and fourth tracks on the Green Album are the best ones. In fact, the entire album is quite simply the greatest album of all time. Too bad Travis Meeks has yet to release a fourth album.
its about a master and his apprentice. the apprentice is accusing the master of holding him back, while the master tries to explain that his learning must be gradual or else it will lead him to ultimate pain and suffering.
he once went killing in the sun to save his apprentice, beacuse he was the one who would save everything. he once was the "one" but he passed the task on to his apprentice.
its One, not Won. a single entity, not the victor.
@soulbot Travis Meek's own website has the lyrics as "won", so, they are correct.

@soulbot there is a victor but it will be neither they only merely play a part and one a distraction and the other a warrior for the greater picture

This band is so underated. That is what I love about them. Maybe not underated as much as unknown. I think this song is written about friends that you care about but bring themselves down. They need to change. You can't do a thing about it. In your attempt to help you are branded an enemy.
This band's lyrics are unclear but this one I understand. Once I tried to help a friend by telling him what he needed to hear but didn't want to hear and I found myself thinking, I'm not the one who's trying to be your enemy.
It is about life. We all go through it. He is telling him he IS changing and that he NEEDS to change. He is beginning to see things differently, he could stay if he wanted but will be unhappy until he accepts it. It is not ME changing you brother, trust me I know, I too was once just like you. I was one. Maturity makes us see things through our own eyes and we assign values to those things for ourselves.
