| actualy, i think lost keys/rosetta stoned is about someone who takes lsd as a shortcut to enlightenment, and they're still on the drug, and they're trying to express how they got there knowing they wont remember when the drug wears off. anyone who's taken lsd or has been around friends taking it will know what im talking about. you get there, then try and send yourself a note or something so you'll remember how to get back wtihout the drug, but it never works out quite as you had hoped. | |

I do not think TREXOR is Maynard. I think TREXOR and EGB are both Maynard. They are laying it on a little too thick. If they are maynard, then he should have known that people inteligent enough to enjoy Tool would catch how fake this argument between him and himself is. I'm not too worried about it though. |

its not about the son of sam killer, or relationships. its neither. its about discovery and enlightenment. shiva is the destroyer. when the world reaches the point where it is turned into a hell, shiva comes to destroy everything, as sort of a savior in a sense, before we become too evil. shiva destroys everything so it can begin again fresh. the person in the song is describing his philisophical enlightenment, he believes himself to be the destroyer, so he is going about doing what he thinks his job is. the son of sam reference is doubt. he fears his cause may be in vain, and that he is just insane (a-la son of sam killer) in the end he is going to sleep, forever, as shiva opens his arms up to him, because he fears he is indeed just like the son of sam killer, so rather than live with it, he decides to kill himself. |
