You're Not Real, Girl Lyrics
You never close your eyes
When I am near you
You never say you know me
When I am inside of you
Girl you know it's only a feeling
Girl you know you lie and you steal
When you take my trust in your body
Nothing inside you is real
Nothing inside you is real
Nothing inside you is real
Nothing inside you is real
You are another person
When you are alone
Nothing moves inside you
No one holds you down
Girl you know it's only a feeling
You should never trust what you feel
When you forget your body
Nothing inside you is real
Nothing inside you is real
Nothing inside you is real
Nothing inside you is real
You're not real
You're not real
When I am near you
You never say you know me
When I am inside of you
Girl you know it's only a feeling
Girl you know you lie and you steal
When you take my trust in your body
Nothing inside you is real
Nothing inside you is real
Nothing inside you is real
Nothing inside you is real
You are another person
When you are alone
Nothing moves inside you
No one holds you down
Girl you know it's only a feeling
You should never trust what you feel
When you forget your body
Nothing inside you is real
Nothing inside you is real
Nothing inside you is real
Nothing inside you is real
You're not real
You're not real

Alternatively, the coming inside her could be about the teachings of the cult coming inside her and being believed by her. She starts to deny her body and herself, which leads to her denying the belief that caused her to deny it in the first place. Either way, there's a theme of hypocrisy and self-contradiction.
A girl acts normal in the presence of her man but the comfort and humanity of the relationship are a band aid. The love is only a temporary feeling, because deep down she is still horrible and broken. Everyone's interpretation is that the girl is good but brainwashed to be bad, but it's the exact opposite. The girl is brainwashed to be human, but when she's alone, she lies and steals, she feels nothing, she isn't real. This girl sucks.
@arredwade I think I agree with this more than any of the other interpretations listed on here. This type of scenario feels like a very "Swansian" theme to me.

Well, it's how interpret it.
A guy who is loving a woman but that woman is not in love with him and playing him around.
You never close your eyes When I am near you""
Closing your eyes, like feeling weak, soft, being tender from the other presence.
You never say you know me When I am inside of you""
He feels it that the emotions are not mutual and she uses him as a tool, to valorise herself.
Girl you know it's only a feeling Girl you know you lie and you steal·""
He is ridiculizing his own feeling, to place them to how she values them. She responds to his love and steal his heart, but everything is made of lies.
When you take my trust in your body Nothing inside you is real"
Trust = Penis. Body = Vagina He is saying that his love "carnal love" is fake, everything is fake.
You are another person When you are alone"
That she never showed him who she is really is, that she never liked him and never had any consideration for him.
Nothing moves inside you No one holds you down"
He is mocking her blandness and he is getting hurt of her not being able to love him back.
Girl you know it's only a feeling You should never trust what you feel
He is saying that he has enough, that he is going to break through her fake love, that he is not acquired.
When you forget your body Nothing inside you is real
He is pitying her, pitying her fake love.
You're not real You're not real
He is saying that she is fake and everything she does is fake, that she is a blank page and he has enough.
If this track is any more intimate than not, i think my interpretation would be the good one, if not, then i am all wrong.
@ernst10016 This song has two interpretation, a surface one about a man being denied love by a woman and deeper interpretation with a woman and her faith in God. More complex than i thought four years ago.

@ernst10016 Seeing your earlier and later comments, I'm glad to see someone who recognizes the layers going on here. It took me a while too. Gira is a master of saying a lot with a few words. I definitely do not think it is an anti-religion song. I think it is on some level a commentary about a relationship gone wrong (which thematically links it to Greed/Holy Money material). But on another level, yeah I think it's either about faith or wavering faith, something spiritual. Also, the word choice of, "When you take my trust in your body" and "You...

Also, the word choice of, "When you take my trust in your body" and "You should never trust what you feel" makes me wonder if "Trust Me" evolved out of this song, or the opposite happened. He's always had a knack for taking lyrical themes from one song and scrambling them up for a new one.
A girl in a cult. She's subservient to the leaders of the cult, who use her for sex, while telling her that material things don't matter. She knows she has to do what they tell her, but she doesn't like it, so she withdraws and becomes quiet. She applies the anti-materialist rhetoric, telling herself it's not really happening.
@DaFace I don't think I agree. This album is often misunderstood by people, but Gira has been fairly outspoken about how it's not an anti-religion album. I think this type of topic would be way too on the nose for him. Every "alternative" band was commenting on this type of shit in the late-80s and he was bored by it. Read the book 'Sacrifice and Transcendence' for citations.

woman in the eyes of god and religions.
@agrian Plenty of religions venerate women. I doubt whatever God there is (or isn't) has a negative view of them either considering that he created them.
