Rah! Rah! Replica! Lyrics

I caught my boyfriend kissing a replica
Oh god, she looked just like me
Only nice and sweet and better
But she's not bacon boy
She's fucking sizzlelean yeah

She burnt my dresses and she cut my hair
"She burnt my dresses and she cut my hair"
HE BURNT MY DRESSES AND HE CUT MY HAIR
Dowsed out the fire in my stare

One. Two.

Now I live on a new street baby
Now I live on a new street yeah
Now I live on a new street baby
Address double zero and the place is nowhere

Don't. You. Try. To. Fake. Me. Out.

Lol I can't believe everyone one thinks this is about another women-it's metaphorical, not literal! It's about her own self image, how she's changed since being with this guy- she uses the phrase "caught" implying she just suddenly realised how she'd changed. She's describing herself as another person because she IS like another person, in this relationship shes lost herself. These lines describe how she feels shes become generic- "Only nice and sweet and better/But she's not bacon boy/She's fucking sizzlean", these how she's lost her individuality- "She burnt my dresses and she cut my hair/She burnt my dresses and she cut my hair/HE BURNT MY DRESSES AND HE CUT MY HAIR" "Dowsed out the fire in my stare"... It's an AMAZING song anyway, if I were less tired I'd go into more detail :)

Love it.

"She burnt my dresses and cut my hair. He burnt my dresses and cut my hair."

"Now I live on a new street baby." "Address 'double zero'..."

Clearly this song is about a girl who "switches teams" after catching her boyfriend in the act.

@supervixenPgrrl is so right, I never thought about the song like this but it makes so much more sense. I was always flummoxed by the "sizzlelean" line because its unlike Kathleen to diss another girl but now I totally get it. Basically the song is about letting a man change you beyond recognition (but really the situation can apply to any gender). She made herself "nice and sweet" to fit his standards and by doing so "doused out the fire" inside of her, the very thing that makes her who she is, which is why this Replica is not "bacon" but "sizzlelean", she's a lousy version of herself. "Now I live on a new street baby, address double zero and the place is nowhere" is referencing the fact that her true self has pretty much disappeared. Such a smart song! For so long I've been dancing along to these songs without ever really analyzing the lyrics and wow, Kathleen Hanna is so smart and poetic and criminally underrated!
