Fireworks Lyrics
She went down to her house by the water
To hide herself from his grasp
He went down to the water to find her
To consumate their love at last
Then the lightning flashing (flashing crashing)
Fireworks shooting up in her head (in her head)
The earth was shaking (shaking quaking)
Fireworks pouring down on her head (on her head)
Only sound she heard was (lovely word)
Fireworks like a charm (annointed)
Blazing red
She went down to escape from her prison
To free herself from her fears
All those years up to here with tradition
And opportunity so near
Then the lightning flashing (flashing crashing)
Fireworks shooting up in her head (in her head)
The earth was shaking (shaking quaking)
Fireworks pouring down on her head (on her head)
Only sound she heard was (lovely word)
Fireworks like a charm (annointed)
Blazing red
She went down on a snow white pillow
To cast herself in the looking glass
He knew the time had finally come now
To break the spell they shared at last
Then the lightning flashing (flashing crashing)
Fireworks shooting up in her head (in her head)
The earth was shaking (shaking quaking)

Albert Bouchard talked in an interview in 2007 that the song is about a girl (he knew) who never had an orgasm.
I do believe Spamadex got it right with Al's non-orgasmic girl story but on the other hand, this song is a story of any innocent girl who finds the courage to go all the way. A very cute story too if u ask me, with lightning and fireworks going off in her head at the moment of orgasmic bliss.
I think this song is about sex it's one of my few happy songs anyway. see my mixtape
I simply love this song. What it';s about, though, I have no clue. Its about love tough. Maybe its about a girl who doesnt realise how much a boy's love means to her?
The song is written about the vintage porn movie "Deep Throat" and the lyrics follow the plot of the movie.

A sexually frustrated woman (Linda Lovelace, credited as playing "herself") asks her friend Helen (played by Dolly Sharp) for advice on how to achieve an orgasm. After a sex party provides no help, Helen recommends that Linda visit a doctor (Harry Reems). The doctor discovers that Linda's clitoris is located in her throat, and after helping her develop her oral sex skills the infatuated Linda asks him to marry her. When he informs her that she can settle for a job as his therapist, performing her particular oral technique—thereafter known as "deep throat"—on various men, until she finds the one to marry. Meanwhile, the doctor documents her exploits while repeatedly having sex with his nurse (Carol Connors). The movie ends with the line "The End. And Deep Throat to you all."
The 61-minute movie is intended to be humorous with highly tongue-in-cheek dialogue and songs; fireworks going off and bells ringing during orgasm.
Yeah, I might be wrong about this one but sounds like the song is about a woman who's been kidnaped and tries to escape only to get caught again and abused by her captor, in the end she either tries to escape or kill herself by jumping through a window and the kidnaper realizes it's time to kill her and get rid of her body. The fireworks metaphor is either about ejaculation or a literal firearm shooting. Sorry if I ruined the song for you guys and feel free to interpret it as a happy story if you want to. Haha
