I Love Rock N' Roll Lyrics
I saw him dancin' there by the record machine
I knew he must a been about seventeen
The beat was goin' strong
Playin' my favorite song
An' I could tell it wouldn't be long
Till he was with me, yeah me, singin'
I love rock n' roll
So put another dime in the jukebox, baby
I love rock n' roll
So come an' take your time an' dance with me
He smiled so I got up and' asked for his name
That don't matter, he said,
'Cause it's all the same
Said can I take you home where we can be alone
An' next we were movin' on
He was with me, yeah me
Next we were movin' on
He was with me, yeah me, singin'
I love rock n' roll
So put another dime in the jukebox, baby
I love rock n' roll
So come an' take your time an' dance with me
Said can I take you home where we can be alone
An we'll be movin' on
An' singin' that same old song
Yeah with me, singin'
I love rock n' roll
So put another dime in the jukebox, baby
I love rock n' roll
So come an' take your time an' dance with me
I knew he must a been about seventeen
The beat was goin' strong
Playin' my favorite song
An' I could tell it wouldn't be long
Till he was with me, yeah me, singin'
So put another dime in the jukebox, baby
I love rock n' roll
So come an' take your time an' dance with me
That don't matter, he said,
'Cause it's all the same
He was with me, yeah me
He was with me, yeah me, singin'
So put another dime in the jukebox, baby
I love rock n' roll
So come an' take your time an' dance with me
An' singin' that same old song
Yeah with me, singin'
So put another dime in the jukebox, baby
I love rock n' roll
So come an' take your time an' dance with me

It's funny you guys mention Brittney Spears is covering this song. This song was originally sung by The Arrows, but Joan Jett saw them one time and she asked if she could cover that and they gladly said yes because they didn't care for it too much. So Brittney is covering a song Joan Jett covered. What a god damn idiot.
The song meaning to this is pretty much straight forward. It's about her taking a young kid home and having sex with him. But she's doing all the aggressiveness. She was trying to represent women as powerful.
I love the Arrows version and their youtube videos are great. The singer of the original first version of I Love Rock N Roll" is Alan Merrill of The Arrows, released in 1975 on RAK records UK. Songwriters Alan Merrill and Jake Hooker. Published by RAK Music publishing Ltd. UK. On the Arrows "Tawny Tracks" album. Joan Jett covered the Arrows song in 1982. Britney in 2002, Miley in 2010.
i just recently saw Joan Jett live, and she was amazing. i agree with everyone, damn that bitch Britney to hell, Joan Jett knocks Britney off the planet when she sings this song...
Britney thinks this is a Pat Benetar song.
@GodHatesACoward britney thinks? Well that's news to me!

i love rock n roll...what more can i say?!..its a anthem

This is a good song...the guitar solo in the song is not the best of all time. I have heard better but this is a great song to crank up and sing to loudly.
This is song is timelessly amazing
Sexy lyrics (I love it when women come on to me!), simple chord progreesion (even my nephew can play it!) and an anthemic chorus (you gotta love those chorus' that are easy to remember when you're pissed out of your head and singing songs at a pub with the karoake machine on!) Joan Jett 4 life, niggerz!
