Feelings, inside of my head
I don't know, but I'm thinking about you
Understand that it's so hard to tell you, cause you already know
You already know
When it's twice as hard to realize
That I'm still trying twice as hard to satisfy myself on my own

And I'm still waiting for things to change
I lay my life before you, and I'm not getting up
Father, how I adore you
Those words are not enough

Feelings, inside of my head
I don't know, but I'm thinking about you
Understand that it's so hard to tell you, cause you already know
You already know
Father, know I love you, and know I am wrong
Lord, please take my life
Make me your son
Make me your son

I lay my life before you, and I'm not getting up
Father, how I adore you
Those words are not enough

When it's twice as hard to realize
That I'm still trying twice as hard to satisfy myself on my own
And I'm still waiting for things to change

I lay my life before you, and I'm not getting up
Father, how I adore you
Those words are not enough

The whole song is about God, not just the end part! This is such an awesome worship song, I'll put this on in my room and just sing a long!

yeah the whole song is about god, and even though not EVERY song may pertains to God directly, it still can be about Him. I mean, even if he is talking about a relationship with a girl, it still has to do with God in a certain way. We were created to hook up with people! (ha!) So theoretically, everything has to do with God :-D

just got home from seeing them at fallout 2002 in allentown..they are so awesome. that buffalo at the end..haha...anyway...yeah, when they played this song i was just like so in awe. its been my favorite song since anatomy... came out....tonight when they sang the words "i'm still trying twice as hard to satisfy myself on my own" it meant a lot because i know i try so hard to make myself happy by myself, but i should really be putting it in God's hands....and then when they went right into "For The Moments I Feel Faint"...amazing...ahh..i love them...if any of you were at Fallout, IM me at JoshsAIMname.

This song rocks and then some. Seriously, I can put this song on loop and listen to it for hours. Matt Hoopes wrote this song for a change, and did an awesome job with it. Not only is it a great praise song to God, the music behind it rocks with all its harmonization, especially at the end where they break off in to two parts. Definitely up there on favorite rK songs.

i really like this band. and i'm really annoyed by people who keep calling them inconsistant and flaky christians. Are any of us perfect? Do you really think that anyone could produce an album that didn't have a few errors? Also, just because they aren't singing "God Rocks God Rocks God Rocks" doesn't mean they don't have praising God in mind. They like to sing about stuff that is happening in all of our lives, and they put a moral spin on it. Girls, Cars, College, Jobs, ect - this is life people. Anyways, there is my rant. Don't be a critical christian. Later days kiddos, and God bless

So this has been.my favorite song of OTEP's since it came out in 2004, and I always thought it was a song about a child's narrative of suffering in an abusive Christian home. But now that I am revisiting the lyrics, I am seeing something totally new. This song could be gospel of John but from the perspective of Jesus. Jesus was NOT having a good time up to and during the crucifixion. Everyone in the known world at the time looked to him with fear, admiration or disgust and he was constantly being asked questions. He spoke in "verses, prophesies and curses". He had made an enemy of the state, and believed the world was increasingly wicked and fallen from grace, or that he was in the "mouth of madness". The spine of atlas is the structure that allows the titan to hold the world up. Jesus challenged the state and in doing so became a celebrated resistance figure. It also made him public enemy #1. All of this happened simply because he was doing his thing, not because of any agenda he had or strategy. And then he gets scourged (storm of thorns) There are some plot holes here but I think it's an interesting interpretation.

He reuses the verse melody from the previous album's "Dirty Little Religion", the topics of the verses are all over the place, and he packs too many words into one line (goes to show...) and too few in another (it's pretty hard to find), and rhymes "Henley Regatta" with "Persona non grata", but gets away with it all as only he could.

The Night We Met
Lord Huron
This is a hauntingly beautiful song about introspection, specifically about looking back at a relationship that started bad and ended so poorly, that the narrator wants to go back to the very beginning and tell himself to not even travel down that road. I believe that the relationship started poorly because of the lines: "Take me back to the night we met:When the night was full of terrors: And your eyes were filled with tears: When you had not touched me yet" So, the first night was not a great start, but the narrator pursued the relationship and eventually both overcame the rough start to fall in love with each other: "I had all and then most of you" Like many relationships that turn sour, it was not a quick decline, but a gradual one where the narrator and their partner fall out of love and gradually grow apart "Some and now none of you" Losing someone who was once everything in your world, who you could confide in, tell your secrets to, share all the most intimate parts of your life, to being strangers with that person is probably one of the most painful experiences a person can go through. So Painful, the narrator wants to go back in time and tell himself to not even pursue the relationship. This was the perfect song for "13 Reasons Why"
