Breakdown Lyrics

Oh, what a lousy excuse for a car. One mile to go, but I can't push it that far. I think I've had enough. I think I'm giving up. Saved up my money to buy a new guitar. Then I got ripped off by the guy who fixed my car. I think I've had enough. I think I'm giving up. Once again life's thrown me a curve, and it blew up right in my face. Once again life's rattled my nerves. Don't you see that I'm stuck in the place? All because, you're giving me a...Breakdown Stuck on the side of the road. Emotional over-load. He'll seek and destroy everything that I enjoy. But, I won't be the one he takes down. No, I won't breakdown.

this song rocks, and so does Relient K. the song, although starts off about his car, proves to be an allusion and metaphor to the destruction of satan. at the end of the song the line "he'll seek and destroy everything that i enjoy" refers to the devil. Just like Job, Reliet K feels as though satan is destroying that which he loves, yet the next line "but, i wont be the one he takes down, no, i wont breakdown" shows his strength found in Christ. despite the devil's attempts to destroy his life, he will still stand strong in the gospel and his love found in Jesus. he wont give into the devil or let him destroy his life. way to go! God Bless

this song means more to me than most, because, well, it follows my life to a T. I own a 86 ford taurus, and it is a lousy excuse for a car... even a honda. anywhey, I was saving up to buy a guitar, and then my heater core broke, and "with a deal" it only cost me 350 bucks to fix. hence the guy who fixed my car ripped me off. At the time, I did not manage to buy a new guitar, but waited a long time. Great song, Relient K, great band, gonna see them this weekend, tomorrow at the IOSF. see you there! And see Blankly Fallen's lyrics on this site, and a whole lot more at www.blanklyfallen.iwarp.com. Booyah!

I'm starting to look at this, and maybe the 'he' referred to is not Satan at all, but God. Instead of the song about not giving in to Satan, which sounds so generic of Christian rock, but maybe its about being angry at God, and on the verge of just giving up on Him. But he's also saying he won't let the problems that happen in life get to him, he won't breakdown and give up on God, he won't take the easy way, away from him.
