Down In Flames Lyrics
Christians, we're all afraid of fire. We prefer to suck on pacifiers. Baby pacifists, we're throwing fits. We don't shake hands, we shake our fists. We're cannibals. We watch our brothers fall. We eat our own, the bones and all. Finally fell asleep on the plane. To wake up and see we're going down in flames. We're going down, down, down in flames. We're gonna drown, drown, drown insane. We see the problem and the risk, but nothing's solved. We just say, "Tisk, tisk, tisk." and "Shame, shame, shame." Finally fell asleep on the plane. To wake to see we're going down in flames. Christians, we mourn, the thorn is stuck in the side of the body. Watch it self-destruct. The enemy is much ignored when we fight this Christian civil war. We're cannibals, We watch our brothers fall. We eat our own, the bones and all. Finally fell asleep on the plane. To wake to see we're going down in flames. Na na na na na, na na na na. Na na na na na, na na na na. Na na na na na, na na na na. Na na na na na, na na na na. Na na na na na, na na na na. Na na na na na, na na na na. Na na na na na, na na na na. Banana na na, na na na. Let me pause to clarify ('cause I'm sure you're asking, "Why?"). I stand before you, and proudly claim to belong to what this song complains. I'm part of the problem I confess, but I got to get this off my chest. Let's extinguish the anguish for which we're to blame, and save the world from going down in flames.

I really love this song and this band because they are sending out what all Christians need to heard.
yea, this is a really awesome song for Christians to hear, Relient K has an awesome way of doing this, and they send out awesome messages for not just christians, but to everyone
Yeah, there obviously is a meaning to this song. This place is to discuss meaning, so I will break the ice.
This song is about the damage we (Christians) do to one another through our division. Are minds are closed to our fellow bretheren and we can't let it continue. For 500 years we have been separated by the Schisms of man instead of being united in the pormise of God. If we let this continue, we not only hurt each other, but will keep others from getting to know God and entering into Eternity with Him.
No fame Lost i agree with you. There are too many different sections in the church.

I just saw these guys twice in concert at IOSF in NH, and they sang this song both times. I love it, it has a good message, and also Relient K KICKS ASS!
ok anything i've ever wanted to say to ppl who are like "yea i'm all christian" yet they go and fool around is sumed up in this song... ppl these days abuse the term christian... they use it as a word not as an action...to be a christian is to act christ-like no matter the place yer put in...i mean swaring and stuff that deff is not what Jesus would have said.... i mean non of us can be fully christ-like but striving to is the point....n i would like to see this Christian civil war ended real soon.....

nofamelost nailed that one ! ya i like this song & all except it can be really confusing for like non-christians & people who r just geting to know God.. like they can't dig into the meaning & they think it sounds like a "we're all going to hell" message... i dunno but other than the little bit of confusion there its a good song & i luv the lyrics! ~rOmANs 3:23~
I think this song is about all the generalizations people stereotype Christians with.
i agree with nofamelost (civil war, ect) but i also think that this song means we need to break out of our shells & also get to know people who aren't christian. we feel safer just talking within our group of christian friends. we need to spread the good news.
