Unfinished Lyrics
I wish you could put your ear up to my heart
And hear how much I love you
I still dream of December
Dancing together with rings on our fingers
And the two shall become
And hear how much I love you
Dancing together with rings on our fingers

I definitely think they DON'T get married. The whole song sounds so morose and hopeless and depressing. I think the first line either means that someone happened to the girl (she left him, she's died) and she physically cannot put her head on his chest, which is why he says "I wish you COULD." OR, maybe the girl didn't think she loved him enough and he just wishes that her hearing his heart that beats only for her would suffice. Even the way he sings "I still dream of December..." doesn't seem simply reminiscent, but like he's haunted by it. The fact that he never does finish "And the two shall become.." makes it so obvious to me that it ended badly and unfinished.
Beautiful song though. It's funny how some of the saddest songs are the prettiest.
that first quote is gorgeous! i loove it alot!
I think that they do get married. In fact, I think he's singing this to his new wife as they're dancing "with rings on their fingers" on their wedding day--in December. His love for her is so great, it can't be put into words, hence the "i wish you could..." line.
Since it is the first day of their marriage, the rest of their lives together are unwritten, "unfinished." The two shall become "one," obviously, but they will also become so much more as they live out their days together as a married couple.
As to the Christian thing (deathislogical and jazzyboops), it's pretty obvious that Chris' lyrics are deeply inspired by his Christian faith. I like them, even though I'm not really religious, but you're not getting it if you think that Christians are just applying Christian meanings to Mineral's songs.
i love this fucking song. the first line is brilliant, as is the "and the two shall become one" ending. absolute genius.
