I hear your winter
And I hear your rain
But I've failed your summer ways
And I feel no pain

I hear what you want
And I feel that way
I hear what you want
And I feel that way

I hear you fade away
And I hear you crawl
And I gave my life away
And I feel no pain
And I feel no pain
And I feel no pain
And I feel your pain

And she was my lover so sweet
And she was my angel
What I've recovered of me
I put into a box underneath my bed

When you lie in your bed
And you lie to yourself
When you lie in your bed
And you lie to yourself
Lie
Lie

Bang bang your dead hole in your head
Bang bang your dead hole in your head
Bang bang your dead hole in your head
Bang bang your dead hole in your head

I hear what you want
And I feel that way
I hear what you want
And I feel that way

(This take, don't give a fuck)

    My Interpretation

i think this is about a man that is really angry (explains the aggressiveness of the song) because he feels like he is not good enough for his lover but at the same time he doesnt really care about her, even though he regrets that later on:

i hear your winter: i feel your indifference I hear your rain: i hear you crying Ive failed your summer ways: Ive failed to make you happy (summer relates to happiness) And i feel no pain: I dont give a fuck

i hear what you want and i feel that way: she wants to be happy but hates him now and wants him to die (for example) and he (depressed) also wants to die.

I hear you fade away: i see you go away (they broke up) And I hear you crawl: he knows she is sad
I gave my life away: he feels that he deserves something better and i feel no pain(x3): he, again, doesnt give a damn. and i feel your pain: he's starting to regret for what he has done

And she was my lover so sweet: he is remembering her And she was my angel: he felt safe around her
And what I've recovered of me: what he has learned of this relationship I put into a box underneath my bed: he will use it in a future relationship

When you lie in your bed: when you think you are safe
And you lie to yourself: you are in danger Lie Lie (note: in this part of the lyrics he is remembering the bad things about his lover and for the emphasis on the word lie its probable that it refers to her cheating him.)

Bang bang you're dead hole in your head(x4): you are now dead to me

and the final chorus is just to fill the empty spaces....

Standing On The Edge Of Summer
Thursday
In regards to the meaning of this song: Before a live performance on the EP Five Stories Falling, Geoff states “It’s about the last time I went to visit my grandmother in Columbus, and I saw that she was dying and it was the last time I was going to see her. It is about realizing how young you are, but how quickly you can go.” That’s the thing about Geoff and his sublime poetry, you think it’s about one thing, but really it’s about something entirely different. But the lyrics are still universal and omnipresent, ubiquitous, even. So relatable. That’s one thing I love about this band. I also love their live performances, raw energy and Geoff’s beautiful, imperfectly perfect vocals. His voice soothes my aching soul.

Gentle Hour
Yo La Tengo
This song was originally written by a guy called Peter Gutteridge. He was one of the founders of the "Dunedin Sound" a musical scene in the south of New Zealand in the early 80s. From there it was covered by "The Clean" one of the early bands of that scene (he had originally been a member of in it's early days, writing a couple of their best early songs). The Dunedin sound, and the Clean became popular on american college radio in the mid to late 80s. I guess Yo La Tengo heard that version. Great version of a great song,

I Can't Go To Sleep
Wu-Tang Clan
This song is written as the perspective of the boys in the street, as a whole, and what path they are going to choose as they get older and grow into men. (This is why the music video takes place in an orphanage.) The seen, and unseen collective suffering is imbedded in the boys’ mind, consciously or subconsciously, and is haunting them. Which path will the boys choose? Issac Hayes is the voice of reason, maybe God, the angel on his shoulder, or the voice of his forefathers from beyond the grave who can see the big picture and are pleading with the boys not to continue the violence and pattern of killing their brothers, but to rise above. The most beautiful song and has so many levels. Racism towards African Americans in America would not exist if everyone sat down and listened to this song and understood the history behind the words. The power, fear, pleading in RZA and Ghostface voices are genuine and powerful. Issac Hayes’ strong voice makes the perfect strong father figure, who is possibly from beyond the grave.

Magical
Ed Sheeran
How would you describe the feeling of being in love? For Ed Sheeran, the word is “Magical.” in HIS three-minute album opener, he makes an attempt to capture the beauty and delicacy of true love with words. He describes the magic of it all over a bright Pop song produced by Aaron Dessner.
