I think this is talking about how Daniel wants to love someone, but then he doesn't want to be trapped in a relationship.. or meaning that he was in one.. and is out of one now because something went wrong..

it might be about getting absolutly blind,the first half is him not mixing well with the groups his with so he needs to get out(There's something wrong 'round here) The second half could be about getting with a chik he has no feeling for so hes not sad when she leaves( There's no love lost between you and me)
