Rub 'til It Bleeds Lyrics
Speak, I'm listening
Baby, I'm your sweet thing
Believe what I'm saying
God's truth, I'm not lying
I lie steady
Rest your head on me
I'll smooth it nicely
Rub it better 'till it bleeds
And you'll believe me
Caught out again
I'm calling you weak
Getting even
And I, I was joking
Sweet babe, let me stroke it
Take, I'm giving
God's truth, I'm not lying
And you'll believe me
I, I, I'm calling you in
And I'll make it better
I'll rub 'till it bleeds
I'll rub it until it
I'll rub it until it, hey!
I'll rub it until it
I'll rub it until it
I'll rub it until it, hey!
I'll rub it until it
I'll rub it until it
I'll rub it until it
Baby, I'm your sweet thing
Believe what I'm saying
God's truth, I'm not lying
Rest your head on me
I'll smooth it nicely
Rub it better 'till it bleeds
Caught out again
I'm calling you weak
Getting even
Sweet babe, let me stroke it
Take, I'm giving
God's truth, I'm not lying
I, I, I'm calling you in
And I'll make it better
I'll rub 'till it bleeds
I'll rub it until it, hey!
I'll rub it until it
I'll rub it until it
I'll rub it until it
I'll rub it until it
I'll rub it until it

The Handjob of Death.
One of my favourite songs on Ride of Me.
It is about a hand-job. Men have two 'heads', Zulu, and in this case, it's very naughty and funny word play--and we already know that Polly likes to write about things that she finds amusing, and often there's sex involved. Just look at the song 'Dry'--she said she thought it would be funny to write a song about dry fannies. Enough said.
"And I, I was joking Sweet babe, let me stroke it "
I think this line has to do with her teasing him because she has to 'rub it till it bleeds'--and by bleeding, I don't think she means that literally, either, I think she means rub it till it swells, till the blood goes down south, so to speak. She's teasing him for not being hard already, and yet she still wants it, she's just "getting even" for some imagined or unimagined slight that's been left unsaid.
When this comes on on shuffle, I've a happy man in my hands... Little does he know he'll have to keep coming back.. (Hands, come/cum - yes I take responsibility --- but come on!! It's as clear as.... no more metaphors. Clear what it's about. Hand job from someone who gets how to handle it).
this song is effing intense. it's just in your face, manic, and all over the place. and the lyrics...wow. polly jean is hardcore. definately one of my favorite songs on Rid of Me.
Ha, keed is spot-on. Ouuucchhh.
"Rest your 'HEAD' on me I'll smooth it nicely Rub it better 'till it bleeds"
HEAD people, HEAD...whoever said anything about a handjob??
Its about unrequited love--In her tortured passion the girl is going to masturbate persistently and uncontrollably while thinking about a guy whos not interested in her.
Oh, and 'rub it till it bleeds' could be more word play, or a poetic way to say 'comes'.
the build up and the in-yr-faceness are perfection.
i agree with the boatman's interpretation.
i actually think it's about a relationship where dominant person is abusing others person vulnerability and hitting her where it hurts the most all the time and that is why she is calling him weak because he is incapable of having a normal relationship, but she loves it in a way, that is why she is presenting it in a sexual way. excuse my English , it's my second language.
