My god, how can I be the first person to even comment on this song?!?! This has to truly be one of the best songs he ever did! I think though it only sounds better as he got older and sang it.

Showcases the power of Cash's voice and persona against delicate, feeling lyrics, long before it was fashionable for real men to display their sensitive side. There are many, many covers of this song, and many artists who have interpreted it beautifully. Emilou Harris for one.
