Billy knows how to write a good love song and this is probably the best one he ever wrote...
I always thought he was saying "I'll have your son, if you want me to" instead of "I'll hear your song, if you want me to." {sign of relief!}
I love this song. It sounds so effortless and natural and perfect.
But at the end, when he repeats "I'm in love with you, with you", it always sounds to me like "i'm in love with you, and you" instead of "with you". Anyone else notice this? It's kinda jarring cos here you are thinking it's all intimate and then he says he's in love with "you and you" as if he's talking to anybody and everybody. ah well.
This is the most beautiful song I have on my iPod. (except for Green is the Color) It just brings so much raw emotion to the surface. It just brings me to this neutral dreamy state that few songs are able to do. If I ever get married this will be my wedding song. If I ever have a daughter I will without a doubt name her Luna. This song has positively changed my life.

"I go along Just because i'm lazy I go along to be with you " I love this line... He's too lazy to hide the fact he just wants to be around her. He's too lazy to play the games everybody else seems to play. Their love songs are so open and blatant it's beautiful. He doesn't play the games of saying things indirectly... he just busts out with "I'm in love with you" and passionately starts to just belt out "So in love" towards the end... it's all perfect.
I like that interpretation.. I had the idea that he was "going along because he's lazy", and that his laziness and unwillingness to fight back, and basically just go with it was a guise to hide the fact that he just wants to be with the person. I'm not good at explaining.. it's like she asks him if he wants to go to the store with her. He says he'll go because he's too lazy to argue and not go, but really he just wants to go to be with her. hummer, mayonaise and luna are the holy trinity of simaese dream. this one is just awesome. whenever the strins set in i get goosebumps. and billy's frail, yearning voice never sounded better.
yes.. definitely this is my secret love song. I think it's about torn between two lovers song. Yah right when you notice Billy sing 'you and you' at the end of it.. after 'to be with you'..

He just go along with his partner to go along(to be in love) with the other one(when there's no fighting) So he prefer to not to live with the secret partner, just want to love the 'secret' one to be with..
