Sam Simeon Lyrics

Wherever I go, wherever I stay
My mind will always be
Wherever I go, wherever I stay
My mind will always be San Simeon

They try to rob me
Take away my integrity now
They try to snake me
Take away my dignity
But not my memory

Wherever I go, wherever I stay
My mind will always be
Wherever I go, wherever I stay
My mind will always be San Simeon

They try to blame me
Point their little fingers at me
They try to save me
But that just masks their jealousy
But not my memory

Wherever I go, wherever I stay
My mind will always be
Wherever I go, wherever I stay
My mind will always be San Simeon

Take me back
Take me back
Take me back
Take me back
Take me back
Take me back
Take me back

San Simeon

No matter what they say
What they do to me
They can't touch me
They can't control me
One thing that they'll never touch
My holy memory
No, not my memory

Now take me back
Take me back
Take me back
Take me back
Now take me back
Take me back
Take me back
Take me back

Wherever I go, I'll stay
And my mind will always be
Wherever I go, I'll stay
And my mind will always be
Wherever I go, wherever I stay
My mind will always be
Wherever I go, wherever I stay
My mind will always be

What the hell is it about? I mean, obviously, san simeon, but why did john (?) write this about it? did he grow up there? I went to ss recently and it has nothing but hotels and restaurants. Purely a tourist town. It boggles me why he'd write this about it.

I agree, Phyxius. What the hell happened in San Simeon. He calls it a "holy memory," like the place of some great revelation. Weird.

I'm not sure, but I think San Simeon is the town in which William Randolph Hearst built his biggest estate, and maybe this song is about his downfall? I'm not sure, but hell, why not?

Maybe John he had some kind of breakthrough or inspriration there or something. Maybe he just went there once and enjoyed it, that's a possibility.

Love this song. I don't know what importance San Simeon has to the writer, but you can basically substitute "San Simeon" for any time, place, person, whatever. We all have things that we've had to leave behind but still mean the world to us.

You know, I looked up San Simeon, and did you know it's also a scenic Vista State Park?

I have a feeling that he's referring to the beauty of it.

On the live album he says that it is his favorite city in California. I don't know much about the city, and wiki doesn't have any bio on Feldman. My guess is that it's where he grew up, but only a guess. A lot of artists came from places where the people didn't understand what their art was, but still it's their home so they miss it. Eh? Long shot, but it's how I take it.

I've always imagined (knowing there's nothing in the long to literally lead me to this conclusion) that John believes that he is the reincarnation of William Randolph Hearst.

I always thought he should play that up for some publicity; It would be fun for everyone involved.

OOOOHHH its San Simeon as in the city. I thought it was the Sam Simeon as in the the comic book charecter who is a detective and a monkey. Yea that makes a lot more sense.
