I have slept beside the winter
And the green is growing slow
I have watched you find the places
Hidden by the snow
I have tripped into a valley
That is blue till you can see
I want you to come walk this world with me

With the light in our eyes it's hard to see Holding on and on to what we believe
With the light in our eyes it's hard to see
I'm not touched but I'm aching to be
I want you to come walk this world with me

And I'm sucked in by the wonder
And I'm fucked up by the lies
And I dig a hole to lie in
And I build some wings to fly
And I think that I could love you 'cause
You know how to be free
I want you to come walk this world with me

With the light in our eyes it's hard to see Holding on and on 'til we believe
With the light in our eyes it's hard to see
I'm not touched but I'm aching to be
I want you to come, I want you to come
I want you to come walk this world with me

And it's burning in our fingers
And it's burning on the road
And I like the way you're broken
And I'll like you when you're old
And I see you in the garden
And I feel you plant the seed
I want you to come walk this world with me

With the light in our eyes it's hard to see Holding on and on 'til we believe
With the light in our eyes it's hard to see
I'm not touched but I'm aching to be
I want you to come, I want you to come
I want you to come walk this world with me

hmm this singer is actually fairly good. i like the chorus part alot, and lyrically this song is pretty awesome. Anyway, i think it's about how she has learned to see the good things about this world, even through the bad. She sees this guy who she's been watching for a while (as in a stranger) and is just like hey you seem like someone I could get to know, let me show you how i see the world

"And I like the way you're broken And I'll like you when you're old ". To me that says her feelings for this person are not fleeting. And stating that she'll like them when they are old is such devotion. It seems like the person she is singing to has to be convinced of this, as though they are questioning her motives or they do not believe she is the faithful kind. Maybe they've been hurt before and are protective of who they give their heart to, but they shouldn't be because, hello, she'll like you when you're old so just go with it and let love in.

    My Interpretation

Her relationship with her current/previous partner has become dull and distant. They grew apart. Therefore she is starting to see the beauty in other people, things she misses in her current relationship. One person triggered her attention for letting her see that he does things she misses in her current relationship.

She fell in love without realizing, which made her feel sad until she figured out that she loved someone else. From then on she wants him on her side in het life.

Love makes them blind, and they only (want) see the beauty. She really hungers for him,

She's overwhelmed by the good feelings and at the same time mad at her current/previous lover. But for a while she is struck with doubt and can't decide, therefore crawls into her shell . After a while she decides to breaks up and chooses a new life.

Light Up The Sky
Van Halen
The song lyrics were written by the band Van Halen, as they were asked to write a song for the 1979 movie "Over the Edge" starring Matt Dillon. The movie (and the lyrics, although more obliquely) are about bored, rebellious youth with nothing better to do than get into trouble. If you see the movie, these lyrics will make more sense. It's a great movie if you grew up in the 70s/80s you'll definitely remember some of these characters from your own life. Fun fact, after writing the song, Van Halen decided not to let the movie use it.

Cajun Girl
Little Feat
Overall about difficult moments of disappointment and vulnerability. Having hope and longing, while remaining optimistic for the future. Encourages the belief that with each new morning there is a chance for things to improve. The chorus offers a glimmer of optimism and a chance at a resolution and redemption in the future. Captures the rollercoaster of emotions of feeling lost while loving someone who is not there for you, feeling let down and abandoned while waiting for a lover. Lost with no direction, "Now I'm up in the air with the rain in my hair, Nowhere to go, I can go anywhere" The bridge shows signs of longing and a plea for companionship. The Lyrics express a desire for authentic connection and the importance of Loving someone just as they are. "Just in passing, I'm not asking. That you be anyone but you”

Holiday
Bee Gees
@[Diderik:33655] "Your a holiday!" Was a popular term used in the 50s/60s to compliment someone on their all around. For example, not only are they beautiful, but they are fun and kind too ... just an all around "holiday". I think your first comment is closer to being accurate. The singer/song writers state "Millions of eyes can see, yet why am i so blind!? When the someone else is me, its unkind its unkind". I believe hes referring to the girl toying with him and using him. He wants something deeper with her, thats why he allows himself to be as a puppet (even though for her fun and games) as long as it makes her happy. But he knows deep down that she doesnt really want to be serious with him and thats what makes him.

Mountain Song
Jane's Addiction
Jane's Addiction vocalist Perry Farrell gives Adam Reader some heartfelt insight into Jane’s Addiction's hard rock manifesto "Mountain Song", which was the second single from their revolutionary album Nothing's Shocking. Mountain song was first recorded in 1986 and appeared on the soundtrack to the film Dudes starring Jon Cryer. The version on Nothing's Shocking was re-recorded in 1988. "'Mountain Song' was actually about... I hate to say it but... drugs. Climbing this mountain and getting as high as you can, and then coming down that mountain," reveals Farrell. "What it feels to descend from the mountain top... not easy at all. The ascension is tough but exhilarating. Getting down is... it's a real bummer. Drugs is not for everybody obviously. For me, I wanted to experience the heights, and the lows come along with it." "There's a part - 'Cash in now honey, cash in Miss Smith.' Miss Smith is my Mother; our last name was Smith. Cashing in when she cashed in her life. So... she decided that, to her... at that time, she was desperate. Life wasn't worth it for her, that was her opinion. Some people think, never take your life, and some people find that their life isn't worth living. She was in love with my Dad, and my Dad was not faithful to her, and it broke her heart. She was very desperate and she did something that I know she regrets."
