Personally I prefer the Rammstein version rather that Apocalyptica's mainly because its Rammstein and the vocals on the other dont suit it... it was designed for Till's voice, and he's a brilliant singer
I agree. I heard the Apocalyptica version as well and it was nice. But Rammstein made it AMAZING. I have the demo version as well, either Till or Richard whistle to the song and it's so sweet. It's one of the Rammstein songs that I can listen to again and again and just fall in love with it more with every listen.

Actually, Till is the singer... just thought I'd point out.
I think to grasp the multiple meanings of the song, it helps to watch the music video. I've heard Apocalyptica's version, and the vocals are best done by Till, but the use of the Cello is really cool

Yeah, I agree with Dressed2Depress. The bassline is sooo pretty. Some guy was playing it on my bass at school today and I just HAD to hear the song. It's a really great song too.

when he sings 'wer hält deine Hand, wenn es dich nach unten zieht' it really gets to me, ha. And as a bassist, yes the bassline is incredible.
