I'm bouncing off the walls again (whoa),
And I'm looking like a fool again (whoa),
I threw away my reputation,
One more song for the radio station.

I'm bouncing off the walls again (whoa),
And I'm looking like a fool again (whoa),
Waking up on the bathroom floor,
Pull myself back together just to fall once more.

And my heart's beating out of my chest (whoa),
And this town is still making me sick (whoa),
And every penny from my last paycheck,
I've loaned on you.

I'm bouncing off the walls again (whoa),
And I'm looking like a fool again (whoa),
So go ahead and take a picture,
And hang it up so you can tear me down.

I don't care (whoa),
Cause I'm still here (whoa),
And I've got nothing left to loose,
With all the years I've wasted on you!
(Go, go, go)

Momma and daddy's got the best cocaine,
Ritalin is never gonna be the same,
Twenty four hours on an empty brain,
I got my finger on the trigger and you're in my way.

I'm bouncing off the walls again (whoa),
And I'm looking like a fool again (whoa),
I threw away my reputation,
One more song for the radio station.

I'm bouncing off the walls again (whoa),
And I'm looking like a fool again (whoa),
And I'm bouncing off the walls again (whoa),
And I'm looking like a fool again,
I'm bouncing off the walls again.

Okay kids, let's see what little old me has to say about this song....

Personally, all I see this song as is a song about...that's right, COCAINE.

"I'm bouncing off the walls again I'm looking like a fool again" When you take cocaine, you get very hyper, hence, bouncing off the walls. And yes, you are a fool if you take drugs.

"I threw away my reputation one more song for the radio station" Drugs can ruin you and your rep.. A lot of songs on the radio are about wasted lives and drugs.

"I'm bouncing off the walls again I'm looking like a fool again waking up on the bathroom floor pull myself back together just to fall once more" He woke up on the bathroom floor after taking a few too many and passed out there. Now he's getting ready to take some more

"and my hearts beating out of my chest and this town is still making me sick every penny from my last pay check I've blown it on you" cocaine, again, makes you extremely hyper, therefore, your heart would be beating very quickly. cocaine costs a lot of money, and he's blown all his money from his paychecks on drugs

"I'm bouncing off the walls again I'm looking like a fool again so go ahead and take a picture and hang it up so you can tear me down" the drugs are obviously tearing down his body

"I don't care cause I'm still here and I've got nothing left to lose with all the years I've wasted on you" he doesn't care anymore about what happens to him because he's wasted all his time on drugs.

"Mommy and daddy's got the best cocaine Ritalin's never gonna feel the same twenty four hours on an empty brain I got my finger on the trigger and you're in my way" ritalin is a drug to help you calm down, so it won't feel the same as an upper like cocaine. he was sober for 24 hours, and is going insane without the drug in his system, so he is going to do something irrational to get it

OK, that's the end of my drug referencing... sugarcult rocks!

Fortnight
Taylor Swift
The song 'Fortnight' by Taylor Swift and Post Malone tells a story about strong feelings, complicated relationships, and secret wishes. It talks about love, betrayal, and wanting someone who doesn't feel the same. The word 'fortnight' shows short-lived happiness and guilty pleasures, leading to sadness. It shows how messy relationships can be and the results of hiding emotions. “I was supposed to be sent away / But they forgot to come and get me,” she kickstarts the song in the first verse with lines suggesting an admission to a hospital for people with mental illnesses. She goes in the verse admitting her lover is the reason why she is like this. In the chorus, she sings about their time in love and reflects on how he has now settled with someone else. “I took the miracle move-on drug, the effects were temporary / And I love you, it’s ruining my life,” on the second verse she details her struggles to forget about him and the negative effects of her failure. “Thought of callin’ ya, but you won’t pick up / ‘Nother fortnight lost in America,” Post Malone sings in the outro.

Light Up The Sky
Van Halen
The song lyrics were written by the band Van Halen, as they were asked to write a song for the 1979 movie "Over the Edge" starring Matt Dillon. The movie (and the lyrics, although more obliquely) are about bored, rebellious youth with nothing better to do than get into trouble. If you see the movie, these lyrics will make more sense. It's a great movie if you grew up in the 70s/80s you'll definitely remember some of these characters from your own life. Fun fact, after writing the song, Van Halen decided not to let the movie use it.

Overall about difficult moments of disappointment and vulnerability. Having hope and longing, while remaining optimistic for the future. Encourages the belief that with each new morning there is a chance for things to improve. The chorus offers a glimmer of optimism and a chance at a resolution and redemption in the future. Captures the rollercoaster of emotions of feeling lost while loving someone who is not there for you, feeling let down and abandoned while waiting for a lover. Lost with no direction, "Now I'm up in the air with the rain in my hair, Nowhere to go, I can go anywhere" The bridge shows signs of longing and a plea for companionship. The Lyrics express a desire for authentic connection and the importance of Loving someone just as they are. "Just in passing, I'm not asking. That you be anyone but you”

I think much like another song “Anti-Matter” (that's also on the same album as this song), this one is also is inspired by a horrifying van crash the band experienced on Nov 3, 2022. This, much like the other track, sounds like it's an extension what they shared while huddled in the wreckage, as they helped frontman Garrett Russell stem the bleeding from his head wound while he was under the temporary effects of a concussion. The track speaks of where the mind goes at the most desperate & desolate of times, when it just about slips away to all but disconnect itself, and the aftermath.
