Stuck In America Lyrics

Today I changed
Its to late
cause everyone stayed the same
i'm gone so long
break out cause I'm better off on my own
Today I changed
Its to late
cause every own feels the same
I'm different and you're distant
add it up and it makes no difference!
everybody's talking 'bout blowing up the neighborhood
everybody's gonna break it up today
everybody's talking 'bout blowing up the neighborhood
running just to get away
stuck in america
stuck in america
I'm lost in america
stuck in america
today i changed
new town with the same old face
one way to shake this place that I cant escape
everybody's talking 'bout blowing up the neighborhood
everybody's gonna watch it burn today
everybody's talking bout waking up the neighborhood
I'm still trying to escape
(chorus)
today, today
everybody's talking 'bout blowing up the neighborhood
everybody's gonna break it up today
everybody's talking 'bout blowing up the neighborhood
all i ever wanted was to get away
stuck in america
get away, get away, get away, get away
(all that shit that you put me through)
today, I changed.

Heh, this song always amuses me. My favorite part is "Everbody's talking 'bout blowing up the neighborhood/Everybody's gonna break it up today" because I picture Tim and the band blowing up some neighborhood and then dancing in the rubble, hahahaha.. Plus, the part that says "Today/I changed" reminds me of my life and how I decided I didn't want to be some mindless idiot who buys into corporate scams and so I changed.

Heh... When I went to the Sugarcult concert I can't remember if it was Tim or Marko72 who said this BUT... they said "This song is about being stuck in america and getting drunk" SUGARCULT ROCKS!!!

This is a good song, a little played out, but good.

It's just about being stuck in the same old thing, and knowing tht routines are the same day in and day out, and you can't change that.

It's about changing when everyone else is staying the same. He's trying to escape and everyone else wants to blow up the neighborhood. "I'm different and you're distant" Great lyrics

Last year I went to the warped tour in Boston and it was so hot. I was incredibly thirsty and i had a headache from the heat. So a friend of mine had an asprin, but i needed water. so i went over to one of the guys from sugurcult who was sitting at the booth and i asked him if i could have a sip of water to take my asprin with. he told me i could have the whole cup of water. so for that, i will forever endorse sugarcult. this band is so much fun, and they kick ass. this is my favorite song of theirs. so good!

i was at the warped tour last year in boston too, truthbealiar! yeaa and this was the first song i had ever heard from sugarcult, like a week before the warped tour... but at the warped tour i was standing in this super line for like 2 hours to meet aaf and the guys came up to me and asked me if i wanted a copy of one of their cds with like 3 songs on it and told me to come see them play, and tim waved to me and talked to me after they performed!! eek such a great summer! and as truthbealiar says, "so for that, i will forever endorse sugarcult."
