Doc Holiday (Ft. Rod Sinclair) Lyrics
[Verse 1]
An outlaw walking through the valley of men
Glared with a sunken eye of death
Moved his head from side to side and said
Come on you gutless slugs fight like a man
State your name and business, let's see what you got
Another body for the hangman's count
Show me the bar, and show me the cards
Hold on to your guns
Yeah!
[Verse 2]
Filled up with bug juice
The moonshine in his hand
Hot headed with a temperament
The speediest, deadliest man with a gun
A bloody gambler but a gentleman dog
A frontier vagabond who charms all the dames
Hello Ladies, how's your day today?
Let me introduce you to myself
Doc Holliday
[Chorus]
The outlaw man's roar
The outlaw man
[Verse 3]
A friendly man but without a friend
Fort Griffin, Texas, here I am
Supported Wyatt Earp to the very end
Cemented brotherhood
Don't go in his way
You cannot shake his boots
You cannot scar his fate
Down under you will hear him grin
Greet the man the outlaw himself
Doc Holliday
[Chorus]
The outlaw man's roar
The outlaw man
[Guitar Solo]
[Verse 2]

This one is pretty obvious, but it's about John Henry "Doc" Holliday (1851 – 1887). It tells his story as an Atlanta dentist who moved to the American southwest after being diagnosed with tuberculosis in the hope that the climate would prolong his life. He took up gambling as a profession and earned a national reputation as a gunman. Holliday was a good friend of Wyatt Earp and participated with Earp and his brothers in the famous gunfight at the OK Corral.
Asked in an interview what he likes about the character Doc Holliday, Michael Poulsen replied, "If you're into gunslinger and cowboy stories, everybody knows Doc Holliday. At least they should, if you ask me." "There are so many of those characters," he continued. "I grew up reading about Billy the Kid and Wyatt Earp. I thought, 'Even though they're tremendous and so exciting, do we really need another story about Billy the Kid or Wyatt Earp?' I tried to take some of the characters people haven't heard that much about and follow them. There are some who know about Doc, but there are a lot of people who don't. Not many know about Black Bart, and I think he's one of the most interesting characters. It comes from watching movies, reading books, and being very nerdy about it. I love it."
