You left too early, father love
So many things I should have said
But in your mind you knew it well
Holding on to what I got and love
But things still seems so dark and cold
The fire burning down my happiness
But I will rise...
I took it with me as a tool
A gift from father to his only son
Watching over me with eagle eyes
You gave me freedom to a life
Where dreams are born and truly become real
Are the angels on their way? I'm in the dirt
Hear me screaming, see me bleeding
Cause the day's no more the same without you
Cherish what you love believing in
Never lose your values, stand up for the day
Oh dear father I thank you for the years
I'm writing this song on your desk
Together we can make it through the day
Are the angels on their way? I'm in the dirt
Hear me screaming, see me bleeding
Cause the day's no more the same without you
Are the angels on their way? I'm in the dirt
Hear me screaming, see me bleeding
Cause the day's no more the same without you
Are the angels on their way? I'm in the dirt
Hear me screaming, see me bleeding
Cause the day's no more the same without you

This song is very moving. i'm a through and through metal head, and as i listened to this song, and read the lyrics it brought tears to my eyes.

This is simply a beautiful song. This song is obviously about his dad, but i believe there is a stronger meaning to it. The singer feels so lonely because he misses his dad, its almost like he feels he is already dead and has "Fallen" and now he lays in the dew under the ground, lonely, waiting for the angels come to bring him back to his father, but they just won't come fast enough...The lyrics are perfect and they bring such a great, strong feeling to your heart whenever you hear it. This guy has such a good voice too.
I really like your interpretation, but I like to think when he refers to himself as Fallen, it's like the low points in your life when you need your dad, like we all do, and he cant be there for him

it's a great song, but i always tear up when i hear it because i never even knew my real dad.
Same for me, but I did know my dad and wish I hadn't.

The song is dedicated to vocalist Michael Poulsen’s deceased father, Jorn Poulsen.
As stated by Michael himself, "I wrote Fallen in less than a half an hour or something. It just came very natural to me. The lyrics were done in 15 minutes. It was like the song just came to me and that’s when music really becomes beautiful." The title 'Fallen' is pretty evidently about the loss of a loved one, reflecting the emotional journey of dealing with grief and the impact of that loss; Falling into despair, sadness, and loss.

Can't believe nobody has commented on this song..... Great song!!!!! As for the meaning its pretty straight forward ... it's about the death of his father

Amazing song with beautiful lyrics. I hope to hear a lot more from this band. I love when a song truly captures human emotion. It's so hard to do, but this song does it very well.

I read an article that Michael Poulsen (the frontman)said it's about his dad passing.AMAZING SONG but most of there songs are.

These guys are very refreshing to hear. They remind me kinda of when The Darkness came out, not the way they sound but in that they differ enough from the current stagnant paradigm enough to break the mold.
