Rabbit Hole (Cowards, Pt. 1) Lyrics

Come in
You king of the mountain unknown
Survivors
Now reap what they somehow have stole
Don't give them an inch

I heard a change has begun
I won't give in to cowards
Your fevers evolved
I won't become like you

Come in
Is it evidence clashing with confidence
Don't give em an inch
It's just words
Are you meddling to catfish the government
The final abyss

I heard a change has begun
I won't give in to cowards
Your fevers evolved
The dam has fallen over
They've weakened your walls
Accept the newer world
Accept the newer world

Down inside the longest rabbit hole abyss

I heard a change has begun
I won't give in to cowards
Your fevers evolved
The dam has fallen over
They've weakened your walls
Accept the newer world
Don't accept what you have heard

This is a song about modern internet-fueled paranoia. “How about we all put on our tinfoil hats, slam a Dunkies, and go deep doomscrolling,” stated the band in a press release. “If that sounds like your sorta thing, we’ve got a new song for you called ‘Rabbit Hole (Cowards, Pt. 1). Enjoy.”

"I heard a change has begun" really ear-wormed itself into my noggin after hearing it for the 2nd time, since yesterday. Yet again, another heavy-plodder-head-nodder anthem from this workhorse of a band. Mad props, enjoying the anticipation now for their upcoming album!

FWIW, I'd slam a "Dunkies" w Chevelle any day [as a long time fan, my claim to fame/clout is I was 2nd row during the filming of "Chevelle Live from the Norva"] and shoot the shit with those guys...

Maybe we wouldn't agree on every topic of discussion but that's alright. Their music and powerful messages past have been a safe haven of validation and catharsis for me and, surely, many others.

But, I would probably and in good humor, like to take a beat to argue the legitimate effectiveness of an actual "tin foil hat". Tin has it's uses, after all it used to be the primary cover in roofing, for example. There's a use case, here... that's all I'm saying!
