The prosthetic limbs of social norms are beating us today
The burdens we all must hide, or pay for it
Transgressions aside
Be a martyr for life and everything will be fucking fine
Transgressions aside
Having the time of our lives
Now pay for it and you'll savor every last drop
Two as one
Fodder for the slaughterhouse
Quartered on the killing floor
You and I are searching for something beyond this social condition
Fill the ballot and give our permission
Over and over
Again and again
Sort your condition
Get down with submission
Sort your condition
For submission
Sort your condition
Baby
Get down with submission
Searching for something beyond this social condition
Cast your vote and then move aside
Tradition of submission starting from the womb
You better watch what you say
They always know what's best though
Conditioned by their vision
Sinking in our tombs
The pressure is always there
We know... they want what's best though
Of course they do
I think it's time to stop pointing fingers and start looking inward
Measure the cases 'cause it's not right just to generalize
Start staring down your life and maybe you'll see things much clearer
Imploring what's down in your mind to make an appearance
Sort your condition
Sort your condition
Throw it in remission
Throw it aside
Tradition of submission starting from the womb
You better watch what you say
They always know what's best though
Conditioned by their vision
Sinking in our tombs
The pressure is always there
We know... they want what's best though
Will it ever be?
Will we ever live in honesty?
'Cause we're falling apart, falling apart, you and I
Will it ever be?
Will we ever live another day in honesty?
'Cause we're falling apart, right from the start, you and I
Will it ever be?
Will we ever live in honesty?
'Cause we're falling apart, falling apart, you and I
Will it ever be?
Will we ever live another day in honesty?
'Cause we're falling apart, right from the start, you and I
So paint that picture to sleep at night
No regard for another's life
We'll be just fine
So paint that picture to sleep at night
No regard for another's life
We'll be just fine, you and I
The burdens we all must hide, or pay for it
Transgressions aside

Add your song meanings, interpretations, facts, memories & more to the community.
I think this is about how society wants everyone to conform to certain standards or else they toss them aside like human waste.
The song/ title is inspired by a roguelike 2020 video game titled 'Hades' in which the player takes the role of Zagreus, the immortal prince of the Underworld, who is trying to escape the realm to get away from his unloving father Hades, and reach his mother Persephone in the mortal world, while fighting through many angry lost souls along the way.
I don't dare trying to decipher the meaning behind this song. It seems like it attends to subjects like blame, self-reflection etc. I do want to add to the comment of referencing a video game, though, because the last "jingle" right before the outro is a 1:1 copy of a part in the main theme of said game. I am trying to keep it easy-to-understand in case you are not familiar with the game nor video games as a medium. "Hades" is a video game where you play as Zagreus, being the son of Hades in this version of the myth. Hades is the god of the underworld, and he ruling with a stern hand. You are told that your mother is Nyx, the goddess of night; she is not a god in actual terms, but a titan, the progenitor to the gods. Eventually, you find a letter from a woman named Persephone, revealing that in fact she is your mother, but she left Hades. You confront your father, but he dismisses you. Zagreus wants to meet his mother, fully intend of leaving the underworld, but Hades prohibits him from doing so. You (as Zagreus) have to fight your way from the bottom of the underworld towards the surface, clashing with popular figures of the greek mythology while also getting help from the gods of Olympus. Eventually, you reach the surface and find your mother. But as a being of the underworld, you cannot linger there for too long. Soon after, you die and get dragged back down. The game itself is heavily randomized, offering you new abilities and routes towards the surface, making sure that no run feels like the one before. You keep battling out of underworld, with your mother always waiting at the end to cherish the few hours you have before your impending demise.
Do with this information what you will; I just thought it important to point it out, seeing that this song is quite literally connected to the game.
EDIT: I just saw Misha Mansoor, one of the band's guitarists, commented on the official Youtube video to this song they uploaded, confirming that the band is kinda addicted to the game and even mentioning that they would have released the album sooner of not for them playing the game all day :D
