So many reasons why one should never entertain the taste of the red
A cry for a life of innocence is key to her head
Keep running back to kill 'cause it might make it easier
A fear that keeps you chained down to the ritual adhere
You're a slave born into a dark world of disease (a disease)
A slave that's longing for a rich way

Learning to love a disaster
Direct your soul in the essence of light
To draw the blood of the master flee
The stains on your wings now carry the fray

Tell that she
Embraced the glory vengeance brings
Hold, curl in tight
Illuminate the light

Punish me, punish me
An eye for an eye, an eye for the wicked
Just the sight of me
Your cold intention, burn intuitions
But with a smile on his face
Exist like you can last within this wretched place
So please forgive what I've become

Learning to love a disaster
Direct your soul in the essence of light
To draw the blood of the master flee
The stains on your wings now carry the

Coldest zeal
Extracted from the omen's life
One steady hand in victory
Darkness weeps
As love informs under a pure and present night
Point from the eye, endure the way

So many reasons why one should never entertain the taste of scarlet (scarlet)
Scarlet

So many reasons why one should never entertain the taste of the red
A cry for a life of innocence is key to

Learning to love a disaster
Direct your soul in the essence of light
To draw the blood of the master flee
The stains on your wings now carry the fray

It's about religion. The red bottle is the demon and the yellow is jesus. It says "never entertain the taste of scarlet." And if you watch the video, once the mustard guys have a taste of scarlet (ketchup) they love it and go full retard over it and kill each other for it. And it shows not to mess with the devil basically and you will loose your ways and commit your life to sin and total destruction.

    hope this helped ya :)

Well based on my own interpretation of this song,

"So many reasons Why one should never entertain the taste of the red A cry for a life of innocence is key to her head Keep running back to kill because it might make it easier A fear that keeps you chained down to the ritual adhere You're a slave brought into a dark world of disease (of disease) A slave that's longing for a rich way"

in the first couple of lines how it is stating how there are "so many reasons why one should never entertain the taste of the red" can be another way of stating how one should not give in to their blood lust with the following line continuing to explain how wanting innocence can lead to a form of purity.

in the next couple of lines "keep running back to kill because it might make it easier,a fear that keeps you chained down to the ritual adhere" can be a means of stating to go on and give in because you may be forced to do so anyway, eventually doing so means that it eventually evolves into a form of ritualism as you keep fufiling the blood lust from your inner being.

going on with the theme of giving in to blood lust the next couple of lines " you're a slave brought into a dark world of disease, a slave that's longing for a rich way" can automatically state the enviormental factors of proceeding to carry on with this. One simply born into the time of the crusades is raised to rape and pillage is bound to give into the blood lust and enjoy the proceedings and become wealthy from the spoils of the raid.

so just looking at the opening verse introduced automatically calls forth a message of choosing between moral vs instinct. This is all i'll write for this but as i leave with a quote that clearly summerises this piece of music is "whoever fights monsters should see to it that in the process he does not become a monster, and when you look into an abyss, the abyss also looks into you"- Friedrich Wilhem Nietzsche.

It seems to me that this is about a prostitute who finds love and she is escaping from her "pimp" and becoming free of that life in order to be with the other person.

If anyone read the scarlet letter, this song could be about a girl committing adultery.

    Song Meaning

I think this song is about drugs. I've heard that "Red" is slang for drugs, so I figure this song tells a story of a drug addict and why you shouldn't start, or"entertain the taste of scarlet." Either that, or it's about vampires or leeches.

Holiday
Bee Gees
@[Diderik:33655] "Your a holiday!" Was a popular term used in the 50s/60s to compliment someone on their all around. For example, not only are they beautiful, but they are fun and kind too ... just an all around "holiday". I think your first comment is closer to being accurate. The singer/song writers state "Millions of eyes can see, yet why am i so blind!? When the someone else is me, its unkind its unkind". I believe hes referring to the girl toying with him and using him. He wants something deeper with her, thats why he allows himself to be as a puppet (even though for her fun and games) as long as it makes her happy. But he knows deep down that she doesnt really want to be serious with him and thats what makes him.

Dreamwalker
Silent Planet
I think much like another song “Anti-Matter” (that's also on the same album as this song), this one is also is inspired by a horrifying van crash the band experienced on Nov 3, 2022. This, much like the other track, sounds like it's an extension what they shared while huddled in the wreckage, as they helped frontman Garrett Russell stem the bleeding from his head wound while he was under the temporary effects of a concussion. The track speaks of where the mind goes at the most desperate & desolate of times, when it just about slips away to all but disconnect itself, and the aftermath.

No Surprises
Radiohead
Same ideas expressed in Fitter, Happier are expressed in this song. We're told to strive for some sort of ideal life, which includes getting a good job, being kind to everyone, finding a partner, getting married, having a couple kids, living in a quiet neighborhood in a nice big house, etc. But in Fitter, Happier the narrator(?) realizes that it's incredibly robotic to live this life. People are being used by those in power "like a pig in a cage on antibiotics"--being pacified with things like new phones and cool gadgets and houses while being sucked dry. On No Surprises, the narrator is realizing how this life is killing him slowly. In the video, his helmet is slowly filling up with water, drowning him. But he's so complacent with it. This is a good summary of the song. This boring, "perfect" life foisted upon us by some higher powers (not spiritual, but political, economic, etc. politicians and businessmen, perhaps) is not the way to live. But there is seemingly no way out but death. He'd rather die peacefully right now than live in this cage. While our lives are often shielded, we're in our own protective bubbles, or protective helmets like the one Thom wears, if we look a little harder we can see all the corruption, lies, manipulation, etc. that is going on in the world, often run by huge yet nearly invisible organizations, corporations, and 'leaders'. It's a very hopeless song because it reflects real life.

Blue
Ed Sheeran
“Blue” is a song about a love that is persisting in the discomfort of the person experiencing the emotion. Ed Sheeran reflects on love lost, and although he wishes his former partner find happiness, he cannot but admit his feelings are still very much there. He expresses the realization that he might never find another on this stringed instrumental by Aaron Dessner.

Amazing
Ed Sheeran
Ed Sheeran tells a story of unsuccessfully trying to feel “Amazing.” This track is about the being weighed down by emotional stress despite valiant attempts to find some positivity in the situation. This track was written by Ed Sheeran from the perspective of his friend. From the track, we see this person fall deeper into the negative thoughts and slide further down the path of mental torment with every lyric.
