Well I have seen your face among the flashing lights
Would you believe me if I told you what I know?
I've seen outside the lens of this film camera
But I think maybe you'll think I'm fucking crazy

I know that we have been here in another life
I know that my mind's not lost in the fog
These posters on the wall look so familiar
It's too cold to leave here but I know it'll disappear

The TV only plays these static channels
There's too many wires to unplug it from the walls
You've torn apart this tape that just plays backwards
Never-ending

The carpet floor is so damn soft and comfortable
What's the point of sleeping in a bed?
In the basement of a house with open windows
Nothing's locked up

I left that hall I once thought inaccessible
We'll watch old films from a different point of view
The storm outside builds up to a climax
A lightning bolt

Color bars are beaming through the blacks of your eyes
And in the hum of electricity my heart will hear a melody
We've been here before in some distant memory
I don't want to wake up from this dream
I'm dreaming in the heart of the storm
And when the power grid goes out our love will keep each other warm
We've been here before in some distant memory
I don't want to wake up from this dream

And what is this to you
If not a chance to prove your worth?
We were not all born
To remain on planet earth

And what is this to you
If not a chance to prove your worth?
We were not all born
To remain on planet earth

I know that we have been here in another life
I know that my mind's not lost in the fog
You've torn apart this tape that just plays backwards
Never-ending

Color bars are beaming through the blacks of your eyes
And in the hum of electricity my heart will hear a melody
We've been here before in some distant memory
I don't want to wake up from this dream

I'm dreaming in the heart of the storm
And when the power grid goes out our love will keep each other warm
We've been here before in some distant memory
I don't want to wake up from this dream

Standing On The Edge Of Summer
Thursday
In regards to the meaning of this song: Before a live performance on the EP Five Stories Falling, Geoff states “It’s about the last time I went to visit my grandmother in Columbus, and I saw that she was dying and it was the last time I was going to see her. It is about realizing how young you are, but how quickly you can go.” That’s the thing about Geoff and his sublime poetry, you think it’s about one thing, but really it’s about something entirely different. But the lyrics are still universal and omnipresent, ubiquitous, even. So relatable. That’s one thing I love about this band. I also love their live performances, raw energy and Geoff’s beautiful, imperfectly perfect vocals. His voice soothes my aching soul.

Dreamwalker
Silent Planet
I think much like another song “Anti-Matter” (that's also on the same album as this song), this one is also is inspired by a horrifying van crash the band experienced on Nov 3, 2022. This, much like the other track, sounds like it's an extension what they shared while huddled in the wreckage, as they helped frontman Garrett Russell stem the bleeding from his head wound while he was under the temporary effects of a concussion. The track speaks of where the mind goes at the most desperate & desolate of times, when it just about slips away to all but disconnect itself, and the aftermath.

When We Were Young
Blink-182
This is a sequel to 2001's "Reckless Abandon", and features the band looking back on their clumsy youth fondly.

Head > Heels
Ed Sheeran
“Head > Heels” is a track that aims to capture what it feels like to experience romance that exceeds expectations. Ed Sheeran dedicates his album outro to a lover who has blessed him with a unique experience that he seeks to describe through the song’s nuanced lyrics.

Amazing
Ed Sheeran
Ed Sheeran tells a story of unsuccessfully trying to feel “Amazing.” This track is about the being weighed down by emotional stress despite valiant attempts to find some positivity in the situation. This track was written by Ed Sheeran from the perspective of his friend. From the track, we see this person fall deeper into the negative thoughts and slide further down the path of mental torment with every lyric.
