This song is about their music. Being in the spotlight of fame is the weight of a martyr. It's something you want, but something you don't want at the same time. You lose so much in the process of getting it. With fame come the vultures, circling around you, trying to pick every piece of meat from your bones. Hollywood trying to get you to sell everything that you are for what they promise you. However, they have beaten the system. They are metal and they are not metal. They have broken barriers we didn't know existed. Once the carcass the vultures circled, now flying amongst them, asking us to circle with them. Almost falling victim to making music for the money, but then remembering why they are in it to begin with. This song and it's lyrics are proof of why Spiritbox is so special, and also so successful. They do what is right, even when it isn't comfortable, even when it isn't what is expected.

I thought I heard that this song was about burning at the stake. Such as witch trials and the carried out sentences. This person embraces the flames becomes a martyr and ascends for eternity. Like a god. Lyrically, it syncs pretty well. Religious, or cult-like overtones. Maybe that's the way Courtney felt as Spiritbox was gaining success and used it as a metaphor.
