Leviathan, where are you now?
My secret friend from the underground
Bring your waves and the thunder
Make me believe forever more
Outside my window I can see
The ocean where you used to be
Horns that sprout out from your head
A glowing light near the surface
Leviathan, open your eyes
I cannot save the world's demise
All alone with no armor
Your burning eyes shine from under
You said that you and I
Could make 'em all terrified
And clean up the whole world
Leviathan, open your eyes
Leviathan, open your eyes, whoa oh
Leviathan, open your eyes
Leviathan, open your eyes, whoa oh
Remember once upon a time
Nobody loved you more than I
Our secret place is in danger
Wake up, king of the creatures
Outside my window I can see
The ocean where you used to be
Horns that sprout out from your head
A glowing light near the surface
You said that you and I
Could make 'em all terrified
And clean up the whole world
Leviathan, open your eyes
Leviathan, open your eyes, whoa oh
Leviathan, open your eyes
Leviathan, open your eyes, whoa oh
Under the blackened sky when a fire storm lit up the ocean overnight
So we meet again, but this time we step out of our dreams with open eyes
Now that it's said and done, can we make this world a better place for everyone?
For everyone
You said that you and I
Could make 'em all terrified
And clean up the whole world
Leviathan, open your eyes
Leviathan, open your eyes, whoa oh
Leviathan, open your eyes
Leviathan, open your eyes, whoa oh
My secret friend from the underground
Bring your waves and the thunder
Make me believe forever more
The ocean where you used to be
Horns that sprout out from your head
A glowing light near the surface
I cannot save the world's demise
All alone with no armor
Your burning eyes shine from under
Could make 'em all terrified
And clean up the whole world
Leviathan, open your eyes, whoa oh
Leviathan, open your eyes
Leviathan, open your eyes, whoa oh
Nobody loved you more than I
Our secret place is in danger
Wake up, king of the creatures
The ocean where you used to be
Horns that sprout out from your head
A glowing light near the surface
Could make 'em all terrified
And clean up the whole world
Leviathan, open your eyes, whoa oh
Leviathan, open your eyes
Leviathan, open your eyes, whoa oh
So we meet again, but this time we step out of our dreams with open eyes
Now that it's said and done, can we make this world a better place for everyone?
For everyone
Could make 'em all terrified
And clean up the whole world
Leviathan, open your eyes, whoa oh
Leviathan, open your eyes
Leviathan, open your eyes, whoa oh

This song is about the underwater beast Leviathan who formed a connection with a young boy. About the song, Michael Poulsen explained, "He already has a feeling that the world can be an evil place, full of bad people. He wants as a youngster to try to clean up the whole world, but he knows that he can't do that. But he believes that he can contact Leviathan the sea monster, and together they could clean up all the bad things."
The young boy is looking out of his bedroom window, staring at the ocean, and wonders where the Leviathan is. Leviathan represents not just a fantastical creature but also the hope we and the boy have that something greater can intervene in the struggles of everyday life. His desire to summon this creature reflects a yearning for agency and the ability to effect change, even in a world that often feels overwhelming.
